MasterBaker2
I made a few batches of soap using quietgirls recipe about 3 weeks ago. They all look great except for one. I used Antahala Vanilla from GL and when I sliced up a bar of it, it looks like a junior mint. It discolored to the look of dark fudge on the outside but on the inside it's a creamy mint color. Is this normal stuff for a vanilla? I do know Vanilla's tend to discolor but I really expected it go all the way through, not a crispy chocolate shell with a creamy white center. :undecided
cindym
Yep it is normal.

Brenda
Over a long period of time it will eventually discolor all the way to the center.

Kaybee23
Yup, in fact I did one this weekend out of Belgian Chocolate and it is a lt. chocolate color right now on the top and bottom, and was a creamy white when I cut it. Just since this morning, the sides are turning brown now this evening, and the top is getting darker.
