Kay
I'm using 1343 for the first time & was trying to make an ivory pillsr..just plan ivory with a vanilla scent to put on candle holders in my living room. It came out startburst all over (mottling I guess)..what caused this? I used no additives & 1oz FO for a 4.5 x 3 candle mold. Can you tell i'm still learning? Please help me? judyvega
if you use universal additive or vybar next time you won't get mottling - hth
Candle Man
IGI 1343 is a straight votive/pillar paraffin wax and needs Vybar 103 added to hold more scent. Just don't add to much or you will lock up the scent and have no throw.
7 Pawz
This wax has a tendency to mottle without additives, but I use stearine added to it for my pillar and votive. I sometimes use more fo that should be used for that wax, but when I take them from the mold, if let them set out for a day, the oil on the surface cures, the candle burns great with a fantastic scent throw:D
