formulas

Recommended Posts

I have heard some people talk about putting their fomula or recipe on disks and the computer and some have index cards. But what exactly is a formula? Is it like this:

Blueberry scent from candle source

16 oz jelly jar (11 oz of wax)

IGI 4630 wax

LX 22 wick

4 drops of blue dye

heat to 180-185 and add 10% FO

pour at 165

is that a formula? And you do one for EACH scent and EACH different container that you use that scent in right?

My index cards (I use one for each type of candle) include coloring information, rate of scent, scent blend (ratios) and suppliers of the various components of my blend, and correct size of wick. They also include my testing notes, especially if I had to try more than one size of wick! lol So I note burn times, how long it took to get a FMP, and how far away we smelled the burning candle (scent throw info.)

I typically follow the same method for heating the wax, temp at which I add scent, and temp at which I pour, so I don't include that info. because I always do it the same way.
