Sherri in Canada
Has anyone ever used a 44-18-24 z wick for a dark colored votive? I'm getting hang up with the 34-40z and wanted to jump up a size but I don't wanna blow up the holder if the 44 is too hot for a votive. I like testing pillars better...you don't have to worry about ducking to avoid flying glass lol
DONNAMAC
I always use 44-24-18z in my votives. They burn very well. They do get a very large mushroom after they have been lit a while, but after you clip that one off they do great.

izzy2
Sherri,May I ask where you got the 34-40 wick from?
topofmurrayhill
Depends on how much hangup and how the flame looks. If you think it's pretty close but just needs a little more, you can try 36-24-24 first. 44-24-18 is a largish jump.
Scented
Sherri, I use either 36 or 44. The 44s, when used, rarely torch
