I believe you're supposed to use wax with a higher melting point so the chunks don't melt when you pour the other wax over them. And 5055 supposedly has a high melting point. Thanks for any answers. Jcandleattic Posted September 7, 2006 Share Posted September 7, 2006 The 5055 does have a pretty high melt point. Not sure if you could get them to burn/melt right using them as chunks. I use this for my hurricane candles, and the end result is almost like a hard plastic. IMO I would go with something maybe not quite so hard for your chunks.
