Turkey Roaster

Recommended Posts

I got them in January when they were considered an "off season" item - they were regularly $39. I have a tax client that works at Walmart and told me about Walmart's seasonal items.

Mine are the big rectangle pot with lid - no spout, but with thermostat which it appears that is not what George is looking for.

They are called Turk n' Surf and are made by Masterbuilt. Do a search. You'll find them. Look on Ebay. It's unlikely you'll find one for under $60, and even around that price, you'll get gouged for another $40 for shipping.

They have an open heat element. A lot of chandlers use them. I wouldn't. But it's a much cheaper option than a so-called wax melter.

That's what I use. Tip: Set the thermostat slightly higher than you want your wax temp to be when adding fo and such, because the wax cools down a bit after you dispense it to the pour pots. Especially in my cold winter workshop. LOL :)
