tart molds

Recommended Posts

Honestly, I scoured the web for the break-apart tart mold, and couldn't find one...but I did have a super cheap idea for you, that would work the same. Use an ice cube tray!!! Just pour your wax into the first six cavities of the ice cube tray, and pour to a level that joins each cavity, if that makes sense. Hopefully that will give you nifty break-aparts, that will probably look very similar to Bizzy B's. And as far as the tarts in the cups...they were most likely not poured directly into the cups. You know what they do? They use a regular-sized muffin pan. Pour your tarts about 1/2 to 3/4 the size of the muffin cavity, and let harden and cool, release them from the muffin pan. You know what? Those little plastic cups Bizzy B uses for the chunk tarts looks like the plastic cups that you buy paper muffin liners in!!! You could find out how to get these cups, and label the top somehow (with the warning label on the bottom), and voila!

Hope it works...let me know if you try it!

now when they say 3 oz they don't mean 3 oz for each little block right? It is 3 oz for the whole thing right?

in another post someone sells her 1 oz tarts for $1 each. So that is about the same but with less work as far as packaging and stuff. (selling the clam shells for $3 i mean)

No each block is not 3 ounces- it's around 3 ounces for the whole thing, depending on how you fill them. Some fill them just to the top of the square cavity, and others fill them over that. HTH!

i am going to make up my own symbles. HAL (helps a lot!) LOL

That is awesome then. So you are getting about the same value with arguable less work. NICE.

I can't wait to start. :D

Keep in mind depending on your area and market sometimes clamshells sell more than tarts and visa versa.....I have yet to sell a clamshell but can sell a tart in a heartbeat.

I agree with this statement...I make both star melts and the clamshells..clamshells are sooooo much eaiser for me ...but my I sell more star melts.

I wonder why that is? Do they just like the shape, they think its prettier maybe? :wink2:

Pamperme,

On your website the tarts are only $1.25 and the clams are $3. Do you think that has anything to do with it?

I really like the clams though. I like how BizzyB's does them with the chunks. I wonder if there is some way to make them more "marketable". What do you think guys?:undecided
