pamperme Posted July 3, 2006 Share Posted July 3, 2006 ..ok..massage oils I am making with coconut oil..i have seen them online and they have vitamine e and some said SALT? why the salt..it says for freshness. ????:undecided do I need to add a preserve to this or what? it will be coconut oil and either fo or eo(still figuring this out)does this oil go rancid easily..i have yet to use it. CareBear Posted July 3, 2006 Share Posted July 3, 2006 salt? no....coconut oil is pretty stable, with a 2 year shelf-life. you might want to add some of the T-50 vitamin E to head off rancidity but I have no idea how much.preservative? not if you plan to dispense by pump or pouring - water free systems only need it if people might accidentally introduce water and ick like by dipping wet hands into a scrub or something.
