HeartFullOTarts
I'm new to tart making and i was wondering if this wax would be good for tarts. Here's the webpage....http://candles.genwax.com/candles/___0___Z4L1280P.htmThank you!!
birdieluvr76
I have actually used this wax for tarts. I found it is pretty good. It is not pre blended so you need to add additives to it, but the throw was good both hot and cold, and it colored nicely.
HeartFullOTarts
Oh thank you for your reply!! What additives would I need? Vybar?
birdieluvr76
i used 1 tsp vybar and 1 tsp stearine per pound
HeartFullOTarts
What does the stearine do?
birdieluvr76
makes them hard and opaque. also called stearic acid.

topofmurrayhill
I suspect all you really need is the Vybar. 1 tsp stearic probably doesn't have much effect in a pound of wax. 1 tsp Vybar is the vague equivalent of something like 10-20% stearic (many tablespoons). The hardness and opacity really comes from that.
