ignitethesenses
I'm going to making several infused oils. What I had planned on doing was using canning jars as my doubler boiler - just putting the herbs and oil in the jar, in a pot, and then when its done, strain and right into the fridge. Are canning jars ok to store the oils in? I figured there's no problem with the glass lol but I was wondering about the metal lids...anyone know?
Rebecca_IA
That's what I use. Just make sure there is not condensation inside the jar when you store it, or the lid might start to rust. Happened to me one time, don't know how.
Purple Lilac
Ball makes white plastic lids ( wide and small mouth) - they are called storage caps - They work great.

mountainmadness
I also use a canning jar.... but I place my herbs, flowers, etc. in a muslin bag so I do not have to strain it. I place my oil in my sunny window in my kitchen for about a week. It works great!I just infused calendula last night. All that fresh calendula from my flower garden....
