wildguy
Why are most wicks pre-waxed? Thanks
Shannon WY
The wicks are primed with wax to help them burn better and to elminate any air.
Candle Man
Have you ever tried to light a pillar candle with plain un-coated wick. They are very hard to light & sometimes the wick will burn up and not light at all. Wax makes a wick light better.
Darwin
The wicks I use are not pre-waxed; however, I do dip the tip of it in wax to make it easier to light.
Fern
I use both the waxed and the raw wick and although the raw wick does take a little longer to light, it doesn't burn up and render itself useless...it just takes a bit to get started. After the first burn, you're good to go.
