GerberDaisyCrazy Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 I love making gel candles and I also love to use wax embeds, but I don't like it when that particular candle doesn't sale. It's not like I can keep it for a period of time like regular gel candles, because before I know it the wax embed has started to bleed in to the gel and lose it's color. Does anybody else have this problem? Quote
CathyinME Posted May 7, 2006 Posted May 7, 2006 Yes, eventually they will bleed. I don't make them until someone orders it or I'm doing a show. Quote
jazzbo848 Posted May 9, 2006 Posted May 9, 2006 uv protection powder (i use it for gel also) will help keep the gel from bleeding. you can also lightly color the gel the same color as the embed and that hides the bleeding.hth, cheryl Quote
Sharon in KY Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 How about if you use the UV in the embed wax? Will that keep it from bleeding? Do you have to use in a larger amount cause some embeds have so much color? Quote
jazzbo848 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 using uv protector in the embed wax will also help. reds and blues seem to be the worst for bleeding.i sometimes think that some embeds end up being "over colored" and thus bleed easily, but have no scientific proof......cheryl Quote
