heather_dw
well,. i went ahead and made soap with it. I thought I added enough color but you cant really tell the swirl from the rest of the soap.. unless it lightens up in the oven?? The stuff took forever to trace and I think it swirled when it was too runny :-(ugh..Im not doing so well at this soap thing..
SatinDucky
Keep your chin up! You'll get it going on
Meridith
Your color swirl will probably darken over time so that it is more visible. I've had swirls that I could barely see when I unmolded and cut, but given some time, they do become more noticeable.
heather_dw
yeah, they are very light.. carmen said that it probably took too long to trace because maybe my oils were too hot?I guess I'll just try again tonight with another scent and color combo :-)*goes to take pictures of the soap*
Rebecca_IA
heather, FYI, when lye sits around out in the air, it will absorb moisture. So that's all that happened to your lye while it was sitting out. it was still okay to use, as you found out.Don't get bummed. One more batch under your belt. Think of the experience you gained.
