hem06
Hi all!Can I just say how HAPPY I am this board is back up?!?!Anyway, I came across a lotion recipe I want to try. However, I am not sure if the measurements are correct. They are as follows:52 oz. white beeswax1/2 cup almond oil1/2 tsp. borax1/4 cup rosewaterMy question is with regards to the amount of beeswax. It seems to me that this much beeswax would cause the lotion to get over-hard. However, this is the first lotion recipe I am trying, so I could be completely wrong. Any experts out there care to comment?Any help is appreciated, as I would hate to waste these ingredients. Thanks!Heather

hem06
Well, I found out where I got it! I bought an ebook off the net awhile ago. This was one recipe. I am trying to find a recipe that usesboth beeswax and honey. Here is another:1/4 cup honey 1/4 cup vegetable shortening1 tablespoon ground almonds1 teaspoon liquid lecithin2 tablespoons bee pollen1 egg yolk, at room temperature1 teaspoon rosewater or cologne waterThis is supposed to be a "Beeswax cold cream" recipe.I was trying to use the calculator on the link provided, but when they are using half metric, half imperial, mixing volume and weight measurements...let's just say, the math gods have never been good to me I am getting frustrated, because the ingredients are expensive and I do not want to waste any.
