Mitch23
this mold? To me it looks awesome, but what do I know... hehee. A little pricey, but if it works it should be worth it. I could stand to use quite a few days without lunch, too!http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-18-BAR-6-LOAF-Soap-Slicer-Cutter-Mold-Blade_W0QQitemZ8249906693QQcategoryZ28116QQtcZphotoQQcmdZViewItemMitch

cmille3
If he wasn't all the way across the country, I would soooo have one!!! But to ship coast to coast is painful.
jenniejr
I would love to have one of those ........ but damn! That's alot of money imo. I just can't justify spending that much on a mold/cutter. Call me cheap I guess :undecided
Kaybee23
I have this one and it is really nice. Have soaped about 4 batches in it. Very easy to line using a template, and very easy to cut. http://cgi.ebay.com/NEW-WOODEN-16-BAR-SOAP-MOLD-KIT-WOOD-W-KNIFE-SUPPLIES-b_W0QQitemZ8273200068QQcategoryZ28116QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem
Mitch23
Thanks, everyone. I decided to go with the one you posted, Kaybee. I really want to learn how to swirl, and have read many places that a slab mold is better for that. I told hubs that in a couple of months, I do plan on getting the other one, too.Now I just have to play the waiting game... man this soaping stuff sure is teaching me patience! heheeMitch
Brenda
I think you will enjoy your new mold! They come pretty quickly from Misty Creek - at least mine arrived in a timely manner! I've got two of their 32 bar wooden molds/cutter and I love them. I also have a couple of molds from the first one you posted, but without the kerfs. One has a blade for cutting bars - they are nicely made, but I kept scraping my skin on all the pointy edges of the pieces when I would assemble them after washing. And lining them was a real pain. I use them but they are fussier.
eugenia
That is a very nice mold. Bars are a little bigger than my Kelsei. I wish that I had seen that one first!
