I am using a 16 oz apothecary jar and have spaced them about 1 - 1/2 inch's apart (using the EZ wick setter) and it doesn't seem to be getting as good of a melt pool as when I put them closer together (just eyeballing on my own). Anna Posted March 27, 2006 Share Posted March 27, 2006 I do mine a inch apart,and they burn fine.You may have to send your wick setter,and jar to the company,and let them fit it to your jar.mark in the jar where you want the wicks,and they will fix it for you.Hope this made sense. I want them equal distances from the outside, but I usually leave about 1/2 inch spacing between the wick tabs, and sometimes slightly more. . Do you take the diameter of the jar and divide by 2 and use that wick or do you starter with a little smaller wick, assuming the heat of the 2 wicks combined would create a hotter burn?
