alhughes
hello everyone i have a question about hurricane shells. i made my 1st one tonight & it turned out great, then i melted it back down cause i want to learn to put pics on them but when i was putting the pic i noticed as soon as i poured the wax into the mold it started setting so i'm not quit sure how the pic came out but what i was wondering is should i heat the wax hotter (if so how hot, did it to 190 this time) or should i heat the mold a little? need help. thanks
gerrie
I would always heat my mold for the same reason you are talking about, then once I got side tracked and came back a few minutes later and saw all the wax had melted. It just takes a minute or so for the wax to heat up the mold, and then the wax melts, and then you can put you picture in place. I think 190 degrees is hot enough, that's what I do. gerrie
Sort of hard to see since it's so dark, but it looks like you did a great job. The more you do, the easier it gets.
