Just started making soap and have been looking at my costs per bar... does $4 sound about right for retail? Do you charge extra for bars with pricier ingredients, like 100% olive? Thanks. Bunny Posted March 7, 2006 Share Posted March 7, 2006 The going rate in my area is $1.00 to $1.50 per ounce. I have two different lines, one for fo's and one for eo's and clays. The eo bars were high end, but I offered a 3 - for. Any three fo bars for a discount, or any three eo bars for a discount. Different shapes too so the customers could easily tell the difference.
