TallTayl
Generally, of primarily coconut, I’d start testing with CD or CDN. it really depends on the exact wax blend, container and fragrance used.
locsean
its a blend of coconut, palm and beeswax. Container is a 12 ounce glass jar, 3.5 inch wide mouth. I tried CD 4's, and they were way too small. Maybe CD 6? Also, I am double wicking.
TallTayl
3.5 wide are on the cusp of being double wicked or not. Sometimes double wicking creates too many issues later in the burn. the proportions of the coconut, palm and beeswax make a difference. Which commercial blend is it? id try your double cd6. If those create too much MP depth, and too hot of a container, I’d try a single wick, cd12 or thereabouts and compare. premier 700 series has also been good to me in blends with those components. locsean
Ok, I will try a single wick. I will have to ask the company i get it from what the proportions are. I just ordered the CD6 to see how it does. I actually liked the way the single wick CD4 burned, but it was very low and small flame for the 12 ounce candle, and it struggled. Thank you so much for your help! I would really like to try a cheaper blend, like a soy, coconut beeswax blend. The problem is, I am a very conscious chandelier, and i've heard that 90% of soy wax, comes from soy fields owned by Monsanto, and that the chemicals they spray the fields with, still make it through the refinement process, into most all soy waxes. Do you now anything about this?
