TheChandler
Hi. I'm New to the forum and to candlemaking. Glad to have somewhere to go to ask questions and discover tips and tricks of the trade. I want to make soy candles and melts. How long should I let them cure? Also, I keep getting conflicting information about changing the wick after curing???? Very confusing. Help! Edited March 20, 2021 by TheChandler Misspelled words. Emma Crowford
It depends on the size on the candle if you are making big candle usually it will take 24 hours to cure but again I will say you should not change the wick after curing cause this can disbalance the candles structure and you may even ends up breaking it. So be care full if you are doing this.
bfroberts
It is generally recommended that you cure soy for 2 weeks. If you need to change the wick after test burning, level the surface and allow the candle plenty of time to completely reset and cool. I usually wait overnight (at least) before retesting...just to be sure.
