awickedscent
I have several cases of soy wax that I use for containers. Is there anything I can add to make pillars with the same wax? Do I use Stearic?
mattwats
I'm not an expert in pillars, I'm still getting mine right, but pillar wax and container wax are really different beasts in my experience. Container wax isn't designed to come out of a mold like pillar wax does. I beleive pillar wax shrinks a little as it sets up which lets it come out of the mold. I've never heard of anything that would make container wax act like pillar wax... but if I'm wrong on this let me know. I'd love to learn more Matthew
Henryk
You didn't say what kind of soy wax so I'm assuming its container blend. If you add stearic its probably just going to frost even more than usual over time. If you have a paraffin pillar blend or a straight cut paraffin you can try those mixed say 50/50, but really I would just say to "use the right tool for the right job".
