  1. Hi, I use CBA original and I found that using UA made the candles too hard, and they didn't burn well, I added the recommended amount (can't remeber what that was). Example being I made a 3" container and with an LX-30 couldn't get a full melt pool. I usually use an LX-24. Matthew
  2. Wow, I'm glad I waited to try the new stuff... I was going to order some next week and look into switching over. I check w/ my supplies (DPS Wax) and they said that it was discontinued and they aren't suppose to sell any more I hope they don't mess with CBA original I just got everything working perfectly Does anyone know why it was pulled?? Matthew
  3. I've got two resolutions for '06. 1) GET ORGANIZED (I'm the clutter master) :rolleyes2 2) Finally turn my hobby into a business (never got there this year) There a little simplied, but thats the jist Matthew
  4. Hi, I've used both the large and small square jars and the large and small rectange jars. The small squares I wicked with an LX 26, and the large square jar I double wicked with 2 LX 26's. The rectangle jars I double wicked the small ones and triple wicked large ones with LX 22's. I use EcoSoya Advanced (original) with a little Vybar. Matthew
  5. I've seen all the rustic pillars people do on here, and have to admit I'm jelous. Is there some trick to making rustic pillars w/ soy was that I'm missing, can they not be done :embarasse I'm using EcoSoya Pillar Blend and aluminum molds. I've tried pouring at 10 degrees over the melt point, I've waited till is was slushy, I've waited till it started to setup (made for an intertesing effect, but not what I wanted), I've chilled the mold, I've frozen the mold... and I've search and search... If anyone can help this frustrated pillar maker wannabe please :rolleyes2 Matthew
  6. Hi, All you dial-up users please try the site again, I have reduced the size of the header animation by almost 50%, so it should load a lot faster. Please tell me how things go Matthew
  7. There was a typo in the code that I beleive was causing the problem with Firefox. Thats now fixes and seems to work okay... Still working on the dial-up issue. Matthew
  8. Thanks for the info... I'll have to look into that since it should work. I doubt it's you I probobly have an error in the checks Matthew
  9. Thanks for all the feedback. 7Angela7: Thats my current project, making it more dial-up frendly... I'm temped to offer a dialup and highspeed startup page, but that might be too complicated. Not sure what I'm gonna do yet. Grumpy Girl: FireFox recently released a new version that can support flash and javascript. But I am going to add catches into the site anyway to display non-flash and non-javascript sets for browsers that don't support it, as I don't expect people to upgrade just to visit my site. I completely forgot that not all users use IE (not that IE is really that great, but it's what I use) and it would look/act differently on different browsers. Spellkast: Unfortunately I don't know the lady who's picture is on the header. I wish I did so I could use her in all my product photos... Thanks, Matthew
  10. Well the structure is finally done. There aren't really any products listed yet, but it works and I finally like the look. Now everyone else can take a look and tell me what they think and what doesn't work (I know there will be things even though I tested it like a zillion times). http://www.stonewoodcandleandbody.com Thanks, Matthew

  12. I'll do it... I'd love to get to see and experience other people bath bombs Matthew
  13. The refined is white and in little pettels, it doesn't have a beeswaxy smell, but a kind of chemically smell, and it gave the balm a funny taste even after adding flavor oils. When I use Soy I don't get the funny taste or smell. It may be the brand of refined beeswax that has the problems. Matthew
  14. I've used Ecosoya Pure Soy as a subsitute for beeswax before. It works but the end results are a softer bar/balm. I've tried it in lip balms (don't like the refined beeswax as it stinks and I didn't want yellow balm cause I was going to color it neon colors) and in lotion bars (didn't like the end results, not sure if it was the soy or the recipe though). DON'T use EcoSoya PB as it's intended for candles and is not cometic grade, EcoSoya Pure is pure soy and can be used in cosmetic applications. Matthew
  15. I make a Tea Tree/Green Tea exfoliating scrub with it. Recipe: 2# FBB 8oz Sweet Almond Oil 1 1/4 to 1 3/4 cups fine gain salt (dead sea, epson, or a blend) 1tbps Green Tea Extract 1tsp Tea Tree Oil (it seems small but remeber some people put this on their face) Mix the Sweet Almond Oil and FBB until smooth and them beat the heck out of it. You want it to be 1.5 to 2 times the orginal volume. Then blend in the salt (vary amount based on how gritty or exfoliating you want it), green tea extract and tea tree oil until smooth. It will be really runny after you add the last three ingredients but it will firm up over the next couple hours. Matthew
  16. I use and sell Mill Creek Soy's shampoo and conditioner base, of the three I tried it was the nicest. Cannot compare it to the TDF versions as i've never tried them. If you'd like me to send you samples, give me a PM. Matthew
  17. I'm not an expert in pillars, I'm still getting mine right, but pillar wax and container wax are really different beasts in my experience. Container wax isn't designed to come out of a mold like pillar wax does. I beleive pillar wax shrinks a little as it sets up which lets it come out of the mold. I've never heard of anything that would make container wax act like pillar wax... but if I'm wrong on this let me know. I'd love to learn more Matthew
  18. I use an electric griddle... I got one from Walmart that lets me set the temp. I set it to my pour temp and then my wax is always ready. It also lets me put a few pour pots on at once if I have multiple things going on at once. Matthew
  19. Where do you get "openmoney" I can't seem tofind it. Matthew
  20. I contacted the UPC-code people and got quote for my business... You would have to have a different code for every product and every different version of that product, IE one code for each scent in each product (4 candles x 20 scents = 80 codes) and that's just candles. I would cost me $1,750 a year to maintain my UPC liscence ( about 275 codes) with them on top of the $750 signup fee and I think there was another fee to generat the UPC codes... You also have to follow VERY strick standards about the size, condition and type of label. Thought this might help. Matthew
  21. I get EcoSoya Advanced from DPS Wax, you could contact them and see if they have or are getting the new version. Currently they've only shipped me the old version, but I haven't ordered in a couple months. Matthew
  22. Hi, I store most of my B&B products in 1 gallon jugs (not always full but they work) and use pumps. It's much easier to get things in the 1 to 2 in opening on the gallon jugs. Got my jugs & pumps from Wholesale Supplies Plus Jugs Pumps Matthew
  23. I know www.wholesalesuppliesplus.com carries them already made in a bunch fragrances and shapes (round, stars, moons, etc...). I'd think they'd be really hard to make, and would take forever... Website Link Matthew
