chrisasst
Ok I have searched and cant find the answer. I got in a sample slab of 4625 mainly to test melts with. However, I thought I would pour some votives also. I love how the colors come out compared to 4794 wax. However, the bottom half of the votives I poured have frosting going on. Do I need to heat the votive molds with this wax so the frosting doesn't occur?
GoodScents
Yes, heating the molds will help. I use a old pair of pantyhose to buff them and that helps also.
joym
In addition to heating the molds, try pouring a bit hotter.
chrisasst
Does anyone have a comparison between 4625 and 4794?
rjdaines
I use both and you can make votives with both. I find that the 4794 votives burn and melt into the container better, 4625 I use more for pillars and votives made with 4625 "try" to burn like pillars the first couple of burns. As for the "frosting", pour hotter. chrisasst
I tested the 4625 votives this morning. Using a cd6, cinnamon and lavender. The have cured for only 3 days. I must say the HT I think is better than with the 4794 wax. It would probably give even a better HT if they cured longer I am guessing. chrisasst
Just an update--CD 6 is too big. I put in a CD 5 and it seems to burn great. A little hang up on first burn, but it is catching up. The HT is amazing compared to 4794.
