gar1
Has anyone used chocolate/candy or cake molds for their tarts..I know they wouldnt last terribly long before they warp but has anyone tried them? I keep eyeballing some shapes & things that I cant find in silicone form
simply fragrant
Yes, I use the clear plastic molds, especially for seasonal, i.e. pumpkins, leaves, Christmas trees, etc. Just make sure you let your wax cool and they won't warp, I have had mine for 3 years, and they are inexpensive enough to replace if by chance they do warp. gar1
How cool do you let yours get? I pour right around 175 most of the time.
simply fragrant
I let my wax cool to between 135 - 140. Anything higher and the mold starts warping. hth!
SuzyK
I use them too! They are fun to use. I can post some pics if you'd like if you search Etsy, there's a couple of shops that have some great molds! I just bought quite a few. Or search the internet for chocolate molds and you'll find some great shops. I am going to make some soaps today with the new ones I just got. I have a small addiction to molds lately. lol
