Guest EMercier
I went to the dollar store and found an olive & soybean oil mix. It's 90% soybean and 10% olive. Does anyone here have any type of soap recipe I can use with this? I have 17 oz. I should've gotten more, but I still haven't made my first batch of HP yet! I'm determined to do so before this weekend or this weekend. Thanks in advance!
younggrasshper
I used this and you have to make sure when doing HP that you dont let it get too hot. I put it in right before adding the lye because when I put it in the melting oils it seemed that this oil got too hot and everything separated later. It did work eventually, I had to cool everything down and restart cooking. When getting the lye amounts, in the lye calculators I put 90% soybean and 10 olive. Good luck! fabulousfunfur
I would probably just consider it soybean oil, with 90% soybean oil. Most recipes I make are with soybean oil. This is the basic recipe I use most. You can just add different FO's and EO's when you make it to make a different scented soap: Hard Oils:Cocoa butter = 5% Coconut Oil = 20% Palm Oil = 25% Soft Oils:Olive Oil = 30% Soybean Oil = 15% Grapeseed Oil or sweet almond oil = 5% At trace:Add Cocoa butter
