  1. OK, I've had an odd request that left my jaw a bit dropped, so the faint of heart may want to skip this one. Apparently odd names are the norm for incense scents at 'head shops' & someone brought me a package of incense labeled: Pussy. I wish I was kidding, but I'm not. Save on Scents actually carries it http://www.saveonscents.com/product_info.php/products_id/1030 , but I just couldn't bring myself to going there.

    Susan.

Dare we ask what it smelled like?????

  2. Yeah, I agree Darbla...believe it or not, I make two soaps, colored totally different, and they are both scented with that FO, and some people say "oh I love this one..." or Oh this one is my favorite.." and they each have the same FO..just different name, different color...is that bad of me? (It's a little trick I learned a long time ago, from my mentor....on determining factors of what people choose. )It is quite hilarious, and often times entertaining, especially when you see a woman with the "pink" violet soap in her hand and her husband says "smell this green one"(the green violet one) and she says "eww...I don't like that one at all"...You guys should try it some time. Like, one will be called pretty in pink, and the other is called a walk in the park...funny how people are drawn to things based on a visual "implant". LOL.

I've done that before and it's funny how a change in color can mess with your mind and make you think it's a totally different scent. We used to do that with pomegranate...make it purple and it smelled like nehi grape soda. Also used a lilac fo...made it pink or white (can't remember) and re-named it apple blossom. Smelled totally different than the lilac although same oil. Ginger

  4. I know this isn't the recipe that you're searching for but I took an herbal class a couple of weeks ago and this recipe was given to use to absorb moisture and oder in any kind of boots or shoes. I haven't had time to try yet. Ginger

    Shoe Suffers

2 Cups vermiculite(found in the gardening section of stores)

2 cups unscented, non-clumping kitty litter

1 cup charcoal(found in garden section or with aquarium supplies)1 cup cedar wood shavings or small cedar chips(check pet dept)

    1 cup lavender flowers

    1cup baking soda

1/2 cup eucalyptus leaves, broken into small pieces

    1/2 cup mint leaves

    1/2 cup rosemary leaves

Mix together all ingredients in a 1-2 gallon zipper loc bad. Keep in airtight container until ready to use, as this is highly absorbent and will take up moisture.

To use, put about 3/4 cup of the mixture into two 4x6 inch muslin drawstring bags or some similiar tightly woven bag. Tie closed and place one in each shoe or boot. Keep the bags in the shoes/boots anything you're not wearing them. The materials will absorb any moisture and oder and will last for a year or more and the pleasant fragrance will be a welcome addition to your closet.

  5. My grandson has been invited to the presidential inauguration(S?) in January and needs to raise quite a bit of money for the trip. I'm going to be doing votive gift boxes for him to sell to raise money. I'm hoping with mother's day coming up he will get some good sales. I'm just doing 25 for now and then more if he needs them and then also some wickless bean tureens. Ginger
