I just test burned my first candle made with C3 and didn't get much throw. Details: 1 lb. C3, 1 Tbsp. USA, heated to 185, added 1 oz. Fillmore Peony FO (no dye), stirred until it was at 160 then poured into tumbler (3.125" diameter) with CDN-18 wick. Cured for 1 week. Also the 4-hour test burn left a bit over 1/4" hangup on the sides. Suggestions or ideas? TIA!
Thoughts on why this candle doesn't throw?

Thank you, I'll try using a little more FO next time. Another quick question - around the inside of the hangup it looks whitish and powdery (although it doesn't feel powdery), is that something that can be fixed, or is it just 'one of those things' with soy wax? Is that something that is fixed by tempering, like the bloom you get on untempered chocolate? I'm also going to temper the next batch as I read about on another thread and hope that helps.
