  1. :rolleyes2

    I never said 1 pallet.

And I still don't see where they say you have to order 12 tons of wax per year to order 2 pallets. Can someone please provide a link to this information?

Yes the minimum order is 2 pallets at a time with a total order of 24,000 lbs throughout the year. Call them and they will tell you the same thing. It may not say it on their website but that is their minimum.

  2. I don't know what organization it is but it's the one with the candle flame that say's "We've Checked" what a bunch of BS that site is. Pay us and you can use our logo. They don't even bother to check your product, so long as you pay your good to go. I don't even bother with that kind of bs. Licensing yeah I would love to that kind of endorsement if my product was truly tested.

  3. i use handcraftmarket.com and love sharon :D but we have to use mal's for the cart but i do not love mal's.

are you using the premium cart? I love Mal's so far for the price. Been using it for well over three years and not once a problem..well cept for paypal payments, sometimes I don't always get an on line order that is paying by paypal, not sure if it's on paypals end or Mal's.

  4. I have to qudripple fripple Hand Craft Market http://www.handcraftmarket.com/

I love love love that my wholesale customers have their own login info and don't share some generic password. They each have their own login info which to me anyway is very professional others call it a pita but but they can go through their order history to see what they ordered the last time etc. I do that myself on some of my suppliers to make sure I'm getting what I ordered the last time.

I was a bit confused..okay maybe at a complete loss at first with uploading graphics etc but PA and GG helped me out..course I probably wouldn't would have had to bother either of them if I just read the instructions..lmao..yeah right instructions smuctions, who needs em??? lol..Very easy once you get used to it and coming from frontpage and publishing was a tad new to me..but I did it.:yay:

  5. I'm on the opposite end of spectrum here...If you are figuring in all of your expenses to make the product (including shipping) X2 for wholesale, X3 or 4 for retail you are in fact gigging your customers X2 and so on for your shipping, then charging them for their own shipping on top of it. I simply tack on another 10% to their orders shipping cost, which ends up being a couple of extra bucks that the customer doesn't even see...All works out.

  6. Instead of concentrating on bennies of one wax compared to another (which you should know if you are using the wax in the first place) why not concentrate your efforts on the "hand poured" aspect. This has been lost in the great soy debate. Who cares? No one that's who. I have customers who refuse to burn a soy candle and I've had people turn away from me because they were not all soy (I use my own blend of para & soy), no matter what you say about "your wax" it doesn't matter.

We are ganging up against eachother when we should be ganging up on the big boys and why our product is so much more superior then thiers. Do they give a rats ass how their candles burn? Do they care about testing all different supplier oils? Do they offer a return? Are they just a phone call away with a real person? NO...so why not drive your product home with what is great about it and how much effort you put into testing it? That is my .02¢ worth and like someone else said give it back when you are done.. :embarasse

  7. Fed Ex charges it as well but always has....it seems to be a percentage though...For instance a 14.22 shipment, the fuel surchage was .58...You do the math though..lol...I just know Fed Ex is waaaay cheaper the UPS...and I've never ever had a shipping problem with them....

  8. Ain't that the truth!!??? Good god that stuff stinks to hi heaven!!! It's the same shit they use to dye leather and use it in wood stains...GROSS!!! and to burn it???? Ah yeah...the soy won't kill ya but the dye will..

There is a supplier...damn can't think of the name...who has really nice not icky stinky dyes but you have to use ooooodles of the stuff....Just by Nature? I think that's the name of the supplier.

Paraffin is perfectly safe. Even paraffin with skin-safe fo is safe. It's the dye that will kill you! lol
  9. Oh geeez don't mention those!!!! Someone pulled them up from either ebay or someplace else on TSR one time and the girl who's item it was did a mental flip out on the board...Saying they were patended....she was a real head case I tell ya...

I think soap dipped wash cloths would be a better idea...

  10. Nooooooo there isn't. Like I said I have had them ship just a single case on a few occasions...I think Beth is right though...must be a girl thing..lol...Try changing your voice Candle Man..lol...:neener:

For shipping there is a minimum. They are not going to ship 1-2 cases because they will not pack the glass boxes into another box to ship. They put the boxes on a pallet then wrap the pallet with cling film. They don't want to mess with small orders less than a pallet, that they have to ship, it is just to time consuming and Phil said more likely to get damaged than a pallet.
  11. TVG only sells the lids in 100-200 quanity, the jars must be ordered in 12 case min. mix -N- match.

The black metal lid with a handle is .81 You have to call to place an order. If you don't need that quanity call Phill and he will tell you which suppliers carries his products http://www.tvguilfoil.com/Contact.html

Edited - The first Quanity I had listed was wrong, Phill called me so this info is now correct.

You don't need to order 12 cases of jars from TVG. I've ordered one and two cases in a pinch without any problem.

  12. I *think* if it is work related it is binding. I know I had to sign a few contracts when I worked before I was 18. They did not include my parents siggys either. These were not mom n pops, but corp. So I am sure there was some legality there. Better check in your state to be sure though!

Looked into it...doesn't matter a minor is a minor...States can range from 18-all the way to 21 but rest assured anyone under18 is a minor and no matter what they sign is not legally binding...no matter what state...legal min age is 18...no less....so whatever you signed as an employee from a big corp is null and void....

  13. I don't think it's legally binding with a 17 year old..they have to be 18, no contract is legal with minor..including any and all loans, sales, and credit cards etc there maybe a loop hole with a parents siggy on student loans but otherwise your sol if just the kid signs it...

Sides I would worry more about other candle makers trying to steal your product ideas/business then anyone including family etc...that's just me though since I have personally experienced it. They even try to pretend to be a potential customer to get your info...

I made EVERYONE (INCLUDING my mother in law, sister and nephew) sign a 5 year 500 mile agreement after leaving - even the little 17 year old that just sits at the register looking pretty checking out customers had to sign it.

You can never be too safe!
