Hi all!
I'm making my first batch of tarts tonight. Does anyone know if the thermometer needs to actually be IN the wax while using a Presto Pot? I don't have enough wax in this batch for the thermometer (it's clipped on the side) to reach. Any ideas? Thanks!

Thanks Pam I see that you're in Phoenix too! Guess I won't be storing the wax in the garage since it's still 100 outside
I appreciate it!

Hi all!
Can I store my wax in baggies? I weighed out the wax and put them in baggies in either 8oz or 16 oz increments. I figured that would make it easier for me when I'm ready to make my tarts (just grab a pre-measured bag and go!). I plan on storing the baggies in an old (cleaned out) kitty litter plastic container with lid. Is this okay? I can't see why it wouldn't be, but you guys are the all knowing so I thought I'd run it by you and see what you thought

Hi all
I'm trying to find out where in the world I can buy some 4x6 (or about that size) polypropylene ziplock bags for my aroma ornies. I've been using freezer bags, but I can smell the ornies through them, so I'm just assuming they're not going to stay as fresh. I've been surfing around trying to find a good deal, but I'd rather just go to a local store to buys some (save on shipping!). Any suggestions would be great Thanks!

You guys are a riot Indescent..LOVE the idea of Pink Sugar and Cashmere. Pink Sugar is one of my faves, never tried Cashmere, but I think I'm gonna give it a whirl Thanks!

Thanks guys! And for the record, there's no way in "HEdoublehockeysticks" that I was going to weigh my Presto pot, LOL! Not sure where that idea came from Love the Pyrex idea. Very simple. I appreciate it!

Hey! This is how my shop is set up... I have a presto pot with a spigot that melts about 6lbs. at a time. Then I have loaf pans that I have measured water, 4 ounces, 8, 12, 16, & 24, and poured each amount into these pans and scratched with a knife a mark for 4, 8, 12, etc. So When I turn on my spigot pouring wax into my loaf pans, I know by the marks in my pans just how much wax I have. Hope this helps!

Would this work?

Great ideas! I'm always so impressed with how many "tricks" you guys know I love the idea of adding the wax to a pre-marked pour pot. I figure I can have one pour pot marked in increments (1lb, 2lb, etc) and use that to measure out my wax and then easily pour it into the pour pot I intend to use for FO and dye. Mucho Gracias (that's a big thank you from down south

Hi all
Okay, so here's my question. How do you guys go about pouring several fragrances at once. I am planning on making tarts and figured I'd save myself some time by doing several fragrances at once. I have a Presto pot with spigot and plan to pour the melted wax into the pour pot to mix the FO and dye. Sooo.....if (for example), I add 3lbs of wax to the Presto and want to split it between three pour pots, how do I know if each pour pot has a pound? I plan on adding 1 oz of FO per pound so I kind of need to know how much wax is in the pour pot. I mean, I've got a digital postal scale that I can haul downstairs I guess, but is there any other tricks? Thanks guys

Oh good! I'm glad you called and got it straightened out. Even the best of business sometimes "slip"

You might want to call them. I got a FedEx notice saying my items shipped yesterday (I ordered on Saturday). Good luck!
-
These sound fabulous! I'm afraid I'm going to go broke buying FOs !!
Thanks so much for sharing!

p.s. I'm trying to figure out some good combos for my tarts, I've been cutting Yankee tarts (just not strong enough for me) in half and mixing scents , but decided I'd rather make my own and you guys seem to have some great suggestions!
-
I was reading the thread about combining Love Spell and Vanilla Silk (two scents I would never have thought to put together) and it got me thinking. What are your favorite FO combinations (and where did you get the FOs you like)? I would love to hear them!
-
I got my invoice (and paid ), and a note saying that my items were all packed and ready to ship and would ship as soon as they received confirmation of payment. Whoo hoo Thanks guys.

Hi I'm a newbie too, although I haven't gotten up the guts to try candles yet! I'm sticking to tarts for now and might get adventurous and try candles later Welcome to the board!

THanks guys. I still haven't heard from them or gotten an invoice, but it's still early down here in the South, so I'll be patient I have my order #, so I'm sure they'll invoice me. I'm not to worried about it.

Thank you guys so much! I think I will definitely heat the pour pots before hand I love that everyone here is so darn knowledgable! I feel like I hit the jackpot

Ah Thanks You guys are so sweet! I can tell this is going to be addicting, LOL! This board is fantastic. I can't believe how much information and advice you guys have to offer! I think I've taken about 20 pages of notes so far! Everyone seems so nice.
I'm a little scared that my mailman is going to think I'm a nut...I think I have about 20 packages of various sizes arriving this week Good thing the husband isn't here during the day...I'll have to hide them . I've already cleared a space in my pantry for my new Presto pot, molds and FOs.
Thanks again for the nice welcome.
