Got got my 3 pounds of Redwood Cedar from Tennessee Candle Supply today it is the original smell just like Bert's had!

Woo Hoo! Doing the happy dance.

 I just now got my package , and the Redwood Cedar is PERFECTION! I had a few grams left of the original Bert's that you sent me Barb, and compared the two, and totally agree! I also got some Cinnamon Broom, Blueberry Cobbler, and Sweet Pea BBW- all of these are new for me and all are great oob! I need to order everything from Tennessee I think, lol! THey are right up there at the top of my favorite suppliers list!!!   

Pumpkin apple butter and cracklin birch were good in tarts , but the cracklin birch is headache inducing for me..I can't burn it,lol..it is definately on the spicy side. Men like it in cp soap!

I don't use it in my salt bars as they are like bricks and have to cut soon after gel. I mostly use sodium lactate or yogurt in my silicone tall skinny molds to help unmold easier, and sooner.

Awesome News! Thank you Barbara and Tennessee Candle Supply! Can they possibly dupe Bert's Cool Water type?

Some New FB samples I tested:

Ancient Incense- no acceleration, Discolors light brown. Scent retention is light in tester bar.

Sikkem girls lush dupe- accelerates quickly, discolors tan, good scent retention.

Black pearl- no A, or D, scent retention is light.

Banana- no A, D is tan, scent retention is very good

Patchouli Passion- great scent retention, d's golden brown, no A. Love this scent!

Twilight- still very light scent retention,d's light tan, no A.

Sweet temptation and Passionate kisses both have great scent retention in my tester bars at cure.

Merlin's Forest still holding up great, but there is a powdery note that comes through in soap.

I love sugar cookie Royale in wax melts! Smells delicious and a great throw! I like coconut cream pie from FB too.

Fragrance buddy added several more new fragrance oils last night, more lush dupes! 

I love it too, it's beautiful! Out of all swirl techniques I think this is my favorite. Clean up is the worst though,lol!

WSP Mango Sorbet is so popular in lotion..a couple weeks ago a customer bought a small bottle and messaged me to make her 2 large bottles, It is my biggest seller this spring/summer along with Soapsupplies.net Caribbean Coconut scented lotion.

2. vanilla type: vanilla sandalwood? vanilla lace? tuscan lace?

3. citrus type - Yuzu?, Ginger Lime?

4. berry or mixed floral w/berry - TN has a lovely Peach, Magnolia & Raspberry

 

Yes, Tennessee's Peach Magnolia Raspberry is the only one I use, and it's so great in cp soap too!

Patchouli Passion sticks like glue in soap. Discolors to an amber shade. It's a great scent!

Dark Knight also sticks like glue, no discoloration.

Sweet temptation sticks really good too!

I liked Merlin's Forest much better oob. There's a powder note in the curing soap that I'm not crazy about. Still has very good scent retention.

Honeysuckle jasmine is so lovely oob, only 3% usage rate in soap..it's too light for my taste in the cured bars at this point.

Supplies4candles lavender has been out of stock for about a year. That's the other company's lavender that I like. Sorry about the missunderstanding..auto correct must of taken out the 4 in the other company name.

For candles I use CS Lavender. For soap Pure Fragrance Oils Lavender is my preferred lavender.

I've cp soaped both.. CS lavender is similar to essential oil lavender,not as strong as Peak's ,but Peak's is more floral type lavender imo. I prefer Tennessee Candle's true lavender for cp.

I like Tennessee Candles True Lavender, Supplies candles was really good,but doesn't look like they are restocking..has been out of stock for a long time. Both of these are quite similar to the essential oil lavender scent. NG'S Lavender flowers is a bit more floral smelling and strong, Peak's as well, and it's really strong!

I heard this news as well:) Cucumber Melon is popular for me in cp soap and lotion using Bitter creek BNL version. I did test AFI BbW in a sample and it's a pretty good dupe imo. I don't need 10 lbs. though. I know I did not like WSP'S version! Doesn't smell accurate and has a yucky chemical note in my soap.

I've been using lemon eucalyptus eo's in my lotion to ward off mosquitoes, gnats, etc. It works good for me during softball season when a lot of games are in the evening. No bites! I don't find the smell too bad either.

Thanks Chris! I just used up the last of my BCN cuc melon, so thought I'd ask before reordering..I have FB's Cuc Melon that's pretty decent, but still like BCN's better. I think I will use FB in a blend..Maybe with mint.

Any other must have fo's from BCN that you recommend for cp with good staying power?

Thanks! I hate just relying on one supplier for a scent..BCS going oob has me concerned that BCN may have problems down the road. I just got a sample from AFI that I will be testing out too.  BCN's BNL version really shines in cp soap and is a great seller.. Many I've tried are on the sweet side, morph or fade. 

Which supplier carries your favorite version of this scent. I've tested several in cp soap over the years and I like BCN bubbles n light version the best, but hate to rely on just one supplier for this fo. Any other great dupes? Thanks!

Dark Knight- Very Good & Strong bay rum scent. no A or D. I made a 10 bar batch of soap and scent is holding very well.

Imogen Rose- No A or D in soap sample. Much lighter than my gypsy rose...Imogen is just too light for me, but definately recommend gypsy rose

Northern Lights- No A or D light to medium clean scent in the soap sample

Lady Catrina- No A or D very light in 10 bar soap batch. Not a keeper for me.

Angel's Delight- Separation, just had to keep on mixing for eternity and molded the soap. no D. smells weird, don't care for it.

Honeysuckle & Jasmine-soaped 10 bar batch as the usage rate is low. Smells lovely oob and soaped decent. It did Accelarate a little but not bad. kinda light for me in the soap at about 1 week cure. Will have to see how it is at full cure. 

So White- No A or D. light scent in soap so far.

 White Tea & Ginger- No A or D. Soaped 10 bar batch and the scent retention is very good! This one's a keeper:)

Pineapple Mango- No A or D. Soaped 10 bar batch and the scent retention is very good!

I srill have some of MW Forest Nymph, and imo it is not an accurate dupe of Berts Redwood & Cedar. I agree that Forest Nymph is a little heavy on the Eucalyptus in comparison. I sure do miss Bert's oils!

Oh I hated Boudior too, and still don't care much for Rose Jam though with a long cure it's smells a little better.I'm thinking about Dark Knight (bay rum scent for the guys). Lush Twilight does sound nice..Sex Bomb, Patchouli Passion, Merlin's Forest, Off to fill the cart and cull,lol...
