  1. Hi guys and gals. First off, sorry if this has been answered before but the search function isn't working Ok so I saw this video on youtube of Lush manufacturing Sexy peel which has real fruit juice in. They added it to cornstarch/flour before adding it to the base but of course they didn't say how much! Has anyone added juice to melt and pour successfully? If so hooooow? lol Thanks Kerry
  2. Surprisingly no, but it did look a lot paler on the inside than before I added the lye
  3. Cheers cowgirl I think the oils were too hot on my part, and possibly combined with my pot which I think isn't stainless steel made for a major disaster! I've heard that you should do it in a double boiler or crock pot to, too keep the heat even, but I did mine straight over the hob :\
  4. Thank you very much. Next time I'll try less oil then
  5. Sorry to necro this thread but I just tried adding olive oil to my melt and pour to harden it (1tbsp to 1lb of soap is right isnt it?) and the olive has all floated to the top! How can I better incorporate this with the melt and pour base for next time?
  6. Added the koh to the water, its not that thats bubbling over though. It's when I added the lye to the oils
  7. Hi, I've just tried my hand at liquid soap making and OMG when I added the lye its bubbled up like hell, over flowed the pot and just keeps growing and growing. I've taken it out in the garden for now but what the heck happened? Is it supposed to happen?! Please help QUICKLY recipe is Coconut oil (76 degree) 113.6g Palm kernel oil 113.6g Lard 16 ounces 227.2g Distilled water 363.52g Lye—potassium hydroxide 115.531g
  8. Oh my gosh! That's so pretty. I've not been keen on these column swirl soaps, but this has changed my mind. I love how it makes my eyes trip a little too! ETA: So good they got my first post!!
