  1. I am trying to find someone here who is doing a class/workshop on soap making, cp/hp. I want to see how it is done up front and close, but i don't know where to look? I am open for tips/suggestions on where i can look around. I know everyone is not from NY. Thank you.:cool2:

  2. I am so happy for you ! At the same time I am jealous too. I was sitting here saying i wish i could take up a class or workshop on cp soap making. I wonder where i could find one here. Sounds so exciting, and i look forward to seeing your pictures as well.

  3. Yes, i have been looking thru charity stores, or good will for those crock pots. Some of those places think they can charge so much for used products. One place wanted 15 dollars for crock pot! I can go to walmart and buy a brand new one only 23 bucks for a 6 quart. I have seen the old original stick blenders, parts were missing. I have seen at michaels, their melting pot for waxes with all the stuff in it for i think 20 bucks, i am waiting for the sunday's paper to get the coupon for 40 percent off i believe. Well i also love the Estate sales, so am keeping my eyes open for that, hopefully i can find what i need.

Well i knew i would have gotten an answer i already knew regarding those crock pots, but had ask a dumb question LOL.:shocked2:

Im new but I went to goodwill (charity store like red cross) they had crockpots for 4-5 dollars so I bought all four of them. They are a little beat up but they work. I would feel funny about cooking food in them but they work for soap.
  4. I might be asking a dumb question, but here goes:

I am wondering if you guys or any of you use your crock pot for both soap process, and wax processing? Or Cooking food? I need to know what to do before i do something stupid. Also have seen different crock pots, I do not like the ones you have to press to turn up or down, i prever the knobs on the crock pot, from what i have heard people say it they often have to try hurry and turn down the heat during the cookin process.:smiley2:

  5. I am wondering who sells the clamshells? The ones that I am thinking of making tart melts. This clamshells look like an ice tray with six slots, this is what i am looking for and i would like to get my hands on some. If anyone knows where or what website i could check out for this, I greatly appreciate this information.:)

  6. I have read several posted messages here. Some of you were referring to carmen's site? Who is carmen and what is her website address? I have heard positive comments about her products and website, but no one posted the website address. LOL i have been reading and saying who is carmen? and even typed in www.carmens.com and not even sure if that the address.:rolleyes2

  7. How do you guys practice? I thought some of the soaps i have viewed look so good enough to eat, One was crandberry, looked like a brownie! I have seen every person's soap at the gallery, boy they looked good enough to eat. I thought maybe bying a box of cake mix the one called marbled cake, where you have to save some of the batch to make chocolate, and then add to the yellow part which is in the pan and swirl it. Or with the brownie mix.:P

  8. Wow everything looks pretty!!! Do you currently have a website? Just wondering if you are selling anything. Could you tell me how the lotion bar works? I have never seen anything like this before in my life or heard of. But being new here i am hearing others talk about it.

  10. Hey there! Hows it going ? I hope well. I am so confused what so special about the lotion bars? I mean i have never seen or heard of lotion bars. Lotion period. Why are they so hot here? What type of recipe would that consist of? like soap process?

    Stacey

they work fine for me.. I also use the push up kind too, I tend to favor the twist up type better..
  11. Hi Donita,

What type of waxes are you using? I wasn't sure of which waxes i should start off with, basically i like tarts as well.

I was on the computer and just smelled cinnamon bun. I rigged up a tart melter using my fondue pot holder. Put a real "tart" pan on top, tea light under, and a cinnamon bun tart that I made today. It is melting and I am so excited....this seems so stupid.......that I haven't made tarts before. All of my friends use them. Now I am testing to see how long it lasts. Boy, you guys have all started somehting.....now I can hardly wait until tomorrow to see what I can find to pour wax into. I weiged my tarts and this first batch is 7/8 oz. Thanks for all of the infor posted on this board. Donita
  12. Well, I guess you all know, I am new here. I picked up some melt and pour soap. I want to make good bars of soap. I was thinking about ordering some "Sweet Pea" FO and dye. What do you think of that? I know i can't do much with the melt and pour soap. But i am open for suggestions or any other recipe. Thank you.:cheesy2:
