hey All. I Am Looking Around For A Candle Starter Kit, But I Want To Make Wickless Jar Candles, And Tarts. But The Problem Is That Some Of These Sellers Do Not Sell Any Kits For Tarts. Can I Use Any Kit And Just Make The Tarts Anyway? Also Which Types Of Jars Are Best For Wickless Candles That I Would Like To Use On A Candle Warmer? Is Soy Wax The Best? I Noticed That Some Sellers Add Some Wacky Fragrance To The Kit Which I Don't Want, Sucks. Any Suggestions Are Welcome, And Thank You So Much.

who is selling the best and resonable price smelly jellies kit? I have noticed that some people are charging too much for shipping. Just to place a small order and end up paying the big price for shipping. Should i just go order the Jellies, and jars and fo without the kit? I don't know but i am so clueless, HELP ME?

I just started a post here, about the CP kit. You can find it on the website here. I have not seen a melt and pour kit at walmart yet or ever. I guess all walmarts are different. Also on that website should give you two websites to look for the CP kit or the melt and pour kit.

Has anyone made some CP soap using the FO vanilla bean? I love this scent! I purchased some candles from bath and body works and just love it. Though I try to see if anyone has made it into soap.

I thought about buying a kit from them too, but they were missing something in there kit. They don't have any lye in their kit, and lye is pretty scarce in my area, so I think I may go with a kit I saw on www.crabapplesoap.com they have everything except a scale, it includes a 3lb mold, lye (already measured), safety goggles & glasses, an instructional video tape, and other things. The price is 89.00 without the stick blender which is an extra 15.00 bucks. I've been comtemplating between the 2 companies and can't make up mind for nothing.

I've heard really nice things about southernbelle so I'm sure you probably won't go wrong getting a kit from them. If you decided to go with them let me know how you like their kit.

I am going to order a CP Kit from southern belle. It comes with all the oils and lard i think and a frer mold except the lye anerd one other oil. Oh no dye and FO either. It costs about i think 35- 40 something. If i want to up the kit to get the FO and Dye it will run up to 50-60 dollars. Can anyone tell me if it is a good deal or should i go out and buy the oils myself and order the FO and Dye online? Has anyone ever ordered their CP Kit? I think this kit gives you 2lbs of soap all together. Sorry for the typos earlier. I had the wrong company mixed up.

Thank you all for the posted messages and suggestions for me. I figured that the CP kit from southern belle was too much. I think it would be best to get everything myself from the market. Thank you and keep the comments coming. You guys are wonderful.

normally michaels MP is 8.99 for a 2 lb block!!( why I never bought it)

they had the 2 lb blocks clearanced today for 3.00, thought I would give them a shot, they had clear and white glycerin,olive oil,and suspension base..

Basically i agree with you on sales. i don't think i want to get into selling anything at all. It takes time, stress, testing, and mostly i am not interested in being sued. I love the tarts and the wickless jar candles. So basically I am making them for myself.

What are the best wax to use then?

As far as how much you should charge for them - my suggestion would be NOTHING - not for a long time anyway

I won't even give mine to anyone yet much less sell them - even tarts or wickless - I am nowhere near the point where where I feel I could begin to sell - It will take you quite a lot of work and a lot of testing before you are able to turn out a candle that is SAFE and of a quality to be sold

Some may disagree with me, but my personal opinion is that even wickless or tarts aren't just buy some wax and add FO and start selling

What type of glass jar to use for wickless candles? How long do i need to let the wax cure if i add Eo/Fo? What type of wax is better for the wickless jars? How much to charge for these? Lets say 16oz? Can you recommend a good website where i could purchase a starter kit with jar candles, from there i can omit the wick? Thank you

Its a mix of peppermint, ginger fig and pomegranate. Smells AWESOME!!!! If someone can come up with an interesting name, I will send them a bar:D

I know you are probably thinking YUK, but let me tell you, this one smells devine! Almost like a citrus explosion! It is colored with alkanet root powder for the swirl.

I have to tell you guys this mango rocks! If anyone has recieved any of liz's or my B&B mango products this is the FO!!! Course when we bought it we only paid $6.00 (love them sales) But it is well worth the $$$$$$$

Hey I am wondering where everyone is getting the cardboard packing for soap? I like the one that you just plastic wrap your soap and put in this cute packing which has a logo at the corner with business name and type of soap? Get what i am talking about? It does look like a little gift box. I thought the cardboard box where i could put the whole soap in is cute too.

By the way I would like to thank each one of you for giving me some of your creative ideas. I am going to order my first cp kit this coming monday. I am excited too. I enjoy viewing everyone elses pictures at the gallery. Wish me luck too. I'll try to take some pictures to show. I think i would like to start off like landa did with the basic soap with no dye or fo. To see how it goes.

I am thinking of doing a basic soap, for my children who have eczema. If you guys have a recipe that i could try for this skin type is greatly appreciated. Have a good one.

What are your must needed tools when making cp soap, or any type of soap process. I need to know all that is needed before i hurt myself. Please share your horror stories or mishap stories, while making your cp soap. I know one thing is must needed patience when starting out, because sometimes soap might not turn out right.

I am wondering how many days do i need to leave the soap in the mold? And after it is removed from the mold, and sliced, how long do i need to let them stand apart before storing? Comments are greatly appreciated.

Isn't there anything else we can use besides our tongue? I am afraid to test soap for lye using my tongue!! Anyone lost their tongue yet?

Just do the lye test with your toung before using. Touch the soap to your toung if you get a zap (tingle like toughing a 9volt battery to your toung) then there is to much lye in the soap to use it just yet.

It's always better to be safe then sorry.
