  1. You know I have no idea what type of Vanilla she likes. It's for a room spray for my mother and I don't want to ask her because she will get suspicious...lol! I really don't like vanilla myself but hey it's not for me :)!

Maybe I will try the Peaks Vanilla Passion. Is that straight Vanilla or is it mixed with something to give it the name Passion or is that just a name? Thanks everyone!

  2. Hey Terrie,

I was going to give her that information...LOL You are fast!! I received my kit but I haven't been able to make the candles yet, but I was extremely pleased with their products that I received and their service!!!

I am just waiting to get the candles going. They have food grade paraffin in it I believe is what it is. Here is their link.

  3. I am a newbie and haven't made soap yet. I am making candles and room sprays right now. But I didn't know that there was a difference between the bubbles and the lather. I thought that the bubbles meant that there was a lather  I know that I have a looooong way to go...LOL Could someone please explain to me the difference or do I need to look that up when I get to it :)! I am learning so much from these forums.

    TIA,

  6. Hi Everyone,

I am a newbie and I keep seeing different waxes but I'm not sure where you get them from, what type of wax it is or anything. I have seen J50, J223 and a lot of others. Can someone tell me what type of waxes these are and how well they work for you? If you have a resourceful website that I can see the information about the different waxes, that would be great too!

I am using the NG Joy Wax for my containers but I am learning about different products so that I can test out what would work best for me! Thanks in advance.

Oh, also what are the different wicks the look like 34-40z? Are those codes or sizes? LOL I am trying my hardest to figure these things out but looking at the suppliers it doesn't really give much information about the numbers!

    Thanks

  7. Thanks for your help ladies! I really appreciate it. I am going to be surprising my mother for her new office...LOL!

Hey, I found http://www.chemistrystore.com and they sell the bottles and the cyclo 16oz. for $8.16. They prices are cheap compared to what I have seen so far!

Have any of you ever used them before? They are in Florida which is closer to me but they are moving to SC :(! I saw one of the posts that had a supplier by state link on it and I wen there!

    Veronica

  8. Thanks so much for the help! I am going to get the cyclo as soon as I find a place that carries it...LOL! Do you know of any local places like Walmart or other stores that carry the plastic bottles?

I live in Florida and I can't find a supplier anywhere near me. I want to be able to go pick it up.

Is cyclo sold in the stores or just through suppliers online? If it is sold in stores, where would something like that be at...LOL?

Thanks a bunch for your help!

  9. Hi All,

I am a newbie and I am looking over some really good posts in this area for bath and body. However, I am trying to find out more about the witch hazel distilled water recipe for room and linen sprays. I have been doing a lot of researching and I am finding out about cyclomethicone and FO and also the recipe mentioned above with WH.

What is the better recipe between the 2?

Which recipe holds a scent longer and louder?

And where can I find information on how much to use of the ingredients?

I also need a local supplier in my area but I can't find any doing my regular google searches and yellow pages. I know that I don't have any for candles and I wasn't sure if that would be the only place I could get these ingredients also. I don't know if I am looking under the wrong category or what.

Can someone please help me with this? My mother is soon to get a new office at work and she wants it to smell good for her visitors, so I want to surprise her with a homemade room spray :) Also, hopefully, I can get some future business too :D

    Thanks for all your help!

  12. Hi All,

I am a newbie and I am glad that I found this forum!! You all have been extremely helpful, so this is why I am asking another question...LOL!!!

Have any of you ever used the aluminum muffin pans or the really small cake pans that you get out of the store to make your candles?

I am looking at many of the molds that have the hearts and different shapes for tarts and they look like the ones that you can get from the store. I haven't seen any of the single ones for tarts but I figure that if I can get the same thing from walmart for cheaper then I will do that!

Please let me know. I guess it probably would be ok if you can put them in the oven. However, will they be easy to come out? I hope I didn't confuse anyone...LOL!
