  1. wow I take that back... I forgot how east Candle Science was. You might be right then.
  2. There are much better suppliers than candle science within the same distance.
  3. Now how is this allowed and my post aren't? Do I just need to make a new name and act like i'm a candle maker? This is obviously a strait up advertisment for New Direction. Sorry just getting frustrated at everyone calling me out for doing the same thing everyone else is doing.
  4. I very much agree with Wessex. Your are defiantly buying their leftovers. It may be fine wax but you just never know. Especially with it having soy in it, if it was at the bottom of the melter at the end of the run they could even scorch the wax.
  5. 1. Peak's advertisements are all over this forum... which would be fine except that they try to make it look like it’s an "open forum" which it obviously is not. 2. I’m not a chemist but the companies that manufacture waxes have a lot of expertise, money and time involved in their formulations. Much more than an individual could ever do. Especially when it comes to 100% soy waxes. Anyone can blend paraffin, but to blend a soy and keep it 100% soy takes manufacturing capabilities that I doubt most people have. 3. I honestly don’t understand why everyone else can mention companies and names but I can’t. For example there was a post at presto pots. People commented on where to get them and gave links to their eBay listings and websites, but because I work for Aztec I am no allowed to do the same thing just doesn’t seem fair. Especially when it would have saved the people money.
  6. Just looking at their site (I've never heard of them before) and their prices I would say that is not the case. Their prices are way to high to be buying it by the tanker load.
  7. To each their own. I would rather someone who knows what they are doing, especially with soy wax as you want to make sure you can still call it 100% soy, to make the blend. If you are adding an additive you can no longer call it 100% soy. Although I’m sure some still do. Soy blends are based on refining the oil content and not “adding additives” once you do this you are no longer 100% soy. Which a chemist would know. Why is everyone so mean on here? Seriously I just don’t get it.
  8. Golden Food's 416 is easly the most popular tart was on the market at the moment.
  9. I don't know about the melter, but Golden Foods offers a soy tart wax that you don't have to try and blend yourself. If you make a lot of tarts I would try out their 416 Tart Wax. Always better to go with something that a chemist has formulated.
  10. Well I can tell you it didn't come from IGI like that. I would be very wary of buying anything that had melted down and remolded. You have no idea what they might have put in it.
  11. Yes there defiantly is a correlation between oil prices and the price of wax, but even more so is the price of oil is so high that there is other things they can do with the leftovers (what wax is made from) so companies are buying it up and refining it again to make more gas (which is costly but at the current price is doable) instead of making into wax. Less product, more demand, thus the price goes up. Probably a little more information than you were looking for but that is it in a nut shell.
  12. I'm sure they will try to do this to some of the smaller supply companies. We can all cross our fingers?!
  13. This is off subject a little but you had the gel catch fire with no fragrance? The flash point on most gel (non homemade) is around 430 degrees. That must have been one super hot candle and flame.
  14. Wax prices... they haven't made the official announcement, but they are going up a few cents. Yes, we hate price increases just as much as you do L
