  1. Does anyone have any idea where I can get a Birthday Cake FO that will work in soy wax? I have a customer who wants to order 8 container candles every month in this scent (a Real Estate Broker) and I don't have any idea where to get it. Thanks for any suggestions.

  2. It is my opinion that it is well worth the effort it takes to make candles from soy wax and to contend with the sometimes frustrating characterists it exhibits simply because paraffin is a product of petroleum refining. There is a hugh advantage over using a product that is made from an American grown resource that has absolutely nothing to do with petroleum.

  3. Has anyone used Tony's FO's in 100% soy wax? If so, do you have any recommendations? I didn't know about Tony's until I saw the thread here and it is close enough that I could pick up or at least shipping wouldn't be as much. Any help would be appreciated.

  4. I saw the thread on FO's from Tony but it mostly seemed to be regarding B&B. How are the FO's in soy wax? This would be a supplier from which I could pick up my FO's and save on shipping. Any thoughts would be appreciated.

  5. I guess we're going to have to wait for Jason or someone to let us know because I've always thought like you that the wax had to be heated a lot higher than 125 degrees to get the FO to blend. The scent throw didn't seem to be as good when I tried tempering the wax but I'm thinking it could just be my imagination because I had always thought it had to be heated more.

  6. If you temper the wax and add FO at 125 degrees does this have a detrimental affect on scent throw? It would seem to me that the FO would not be thoroughly incorporated into the wax. I tried this and it does help with frosting, however, I don't seem to have the scent throw (cold and hot) that I had with candles made without tempering the wax.

I used 3 drops of red liquid dye in 8 oz. of wax and the only frosting I had was a little on the side facing an open window and on the bottom for some reason I couldn't figure out. The top was absolutely perfect - smooth and creamy with no frosting.
