  1. Anyone have experience with crushed corn cob as an air freshener? Being I live in farm country, I thought these might go over well. TIA
  2. Nope, I was going to place an order with Tri-State but no one answered their phone and when I left a message, I got no response.....so, I bought elsewhere. http://aromabeadsonline.3dcartstores.com/
  3. AromaticSupplies has aroma beads cheaper than Tri-State http://aromaticsupplies.com/fragrance_beads
  4. Going for the swirly soap look and got this final result! White soap base, Strawberry Preserves, Buttercream and red dye
  5. If you're running Windows, you can check out the Windows website for their list. Here's the link for fonts used with Windows XP - http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/winxp.htm Here's a list of all the font families used by Microsoft - http://www.microsoft.com/typography/fonts/family.aspx These are default fonts that should show up for anyone using a Microsoft program like Windows.
  6. 1st attempt at layered soap. I gotta learn how to lay that second layer so it won't be so bumpy and lumpy.
  7. Thanks, Soapbuddy! I'm trying layered soap today. I just poured it, I'll take pics once I take it out of the molds. I'm not sure how it's gonna turn out, I used clear base with Cinnamon Bun fragrant and white base with red dye and more of the same fragrant. It seemed to lay nicely when I poured it, so hopefully they turn out just as nice.
  8. Hey Jackie! Well I've had them setting out for a day and a half and I must say they work quite well in smaller rooms. The Mulberry has pretty good throw, but it's a stronger scent than the Strawberry Preserves that I have sitting in the large living room. The other one I have in a closed bedroom that I don't use and very seldom go into and it's doing quite well in there, very nice scent. I'm going to experiment with several other scents once my order arrives on Monday and I want to make smaller jars, these I made are 12oz, but I bought 4oz jars to use too. Thanks for the tip on the cardboard inserts with the lids! I order some and new 8oz mason jars! I have a craft show coming up at the end of November and I want to take a variety of sizes and product.
  9. Just an FYI about the fonts - the fonts *you* use will only show up for visitors if *they* have them on their computer system. There are a set of fonts that are default and are used by computer software manufacturers, like Windows. Those fonts will show up if the font *you* used is not available on the visitor's computer.
  10. I came upon a recipe/kits for granulated wax candles. Anyone use these before? What were your results? Good ones or not so good? TIA
  11. You can try this site. This site has brown kraft and other colors and are pretty inexpensive. http://www.kraftoutlet.com/store/Default.asp You can also try - http://www.labelsbythesheet.com/
  12. Thanks! I can't wait until all the stuff I ordered gets here! I'm anxious to make new scents. I think I like the white soap base better but it seems to set a lot faster than the clear base.
  13. Thanks for the freezer tip! It worked a lot better with these white soaps. Pumpkin spice scent, no color.
  14. These are my first attempts at some M&P soap. Blue soap dye and French Market fragrance from Nature's Garden and clear soap base. I had a little trouble getting them out of the molds which is why they are a little rough around the edges. I think I'm going to have to get myself a little hammer just for these occasions. PS. If you ever use the French Market FO, it's a little wicked in the fragrance dept. It doesn't take but a drop and it lingers for a while.
  15. I'm testing the throws now. I put two of the jars in rooms that are at opposite ends of the house and smaller rooms and closed the doors. 1 jar I placed in the largest room of the house that is an open area. I read that these sometimes work better in smaller rooms than larger ones, I'll see which one works better. I had really nice scent when I opened the jars.
  16. I'm using the soap dye that came with the kit I got from Nature's Garden. I noticed that with the ones I've made so far, I don't need more than 2 drops of the blue color to make it blue, the red I needed 5 or 6 drops to make the cherry red color I got. The jars I used came with the kit, but I ordered smaller 4 oz jars and vented lids from Peak Candle. The 4 oz jars I'd like to use for my gift baskets.
  17. Thanks for the tips! I will definitely keep my eye on them. The recipe made 12oz jars which these are, but I had left over in the bowl that didn't fit in the jar, so I'm going to have adjust the recipe. And it called for 2 Tbs of fragrant, which I thought was a lot, considering the size of the jar. The aroma beads I ordered should arrive today, I'm going to try those too. MTT - the cardboard inserts you use, you can buy them that way or do cut them yourself? Also do you guys put a self adhesive round sticker on the lid over the vents to keep in the fragrance? Thanks!
  18. I don't know yet. I made them and capped them right away. I'm going to check it out in a day or so. I'll let ya know on the throw when I open them up.
  19. Anyone else making Smellie Jellies? I was pleasantly surprised that they were so simple to make. I think this can become addictive! Left to Right - Mulberry Spice, Country Christmas and Strawberry Preserves
  20. Thanks for the C&S link! It's about 40 minutes from me.
  21. Nevermind I found some at AromaBeadsOnline.
  22. Hi! I'm new around here too. I just started and I'm a bit overwhelmed myself. I started creating gift baskets, diaper cakes and such about a month ago and decided to try my hand at aroma beads and smellie jellies. I'd like to add candles and soaps to the list at some point in the near future. I found that after my divorce, I had a lot of time on my hands and decided to do something I like to do, which was create, so .... here I am. I have a website - http://www.homespuncreationsbyjennifer.com and I hope to add more things as I create them. I look forward to chatting with all of you!
  23. I am looking to start up a home business selling aroma bead fresheners and smelly jellies and I have a question. I found warning labels for smelly jellies, but not for aroma bead fresheners, I'm assuming they also need them, does anyone make the labels or am I going to have to make my own? Also do I need to put an Ingredient label on either of these types of fresheners? Thanks!
