  1. so I have started testing candles for bear mountain and the problem I have is that my 8 0z. tin has a HUGE flame. I have blown it out and re- lite the candle but the flame is still really big, which scares me. my though is that the wick is way to big for the container. its a 6" 51-32-18 in IGI 4630 pre blended paraffin.

    thanks in advance!

  2. im with chuck, this sounds like there was a pocket of undiluted FO somewhere in the top. Im so sorry to hear your aunt got hurt. my brother bought a container candle from walmart once and there was an oily spot on the side about 1/4 from the wall and when he burned it the same thing happened. it torched!! hopefully this is a freak thing luckily it happened to family who are willing to understand it was a real accident.

  3. what about doing a layered candle? you can do the bottom with the beans in dark brown, a small stripe of an espresso where you insert the tabbed wick and then the top layer in a cafe au late/cream color. that way you dont hit the beans at the bottom. Im not sure if that the look your going for but thats what popped into my head when I read you title

  4. jaxx- I am doing mostly a soy/beeswax blend in containers and soy tart, I wanna play around with the "snowball" technique since I plan to brand as a western and rustic style. im also doing sewing a crochet western and rustic items. I want to try my hand at dipped cowboy/cowgirl bears too.
