  1. Mostly clamshells at the moment. But lots of returning customers started off with my tart sampler sets. And I just got a review on Facebook from a nice lady who bought the tarts sampler, so now these are starting to sell again. Oh, I think lots of people bought the tart samplers for gifts around the holidays. People who know what scents they like tend to stick with the clamshells.

  2. Hey now, us guys need to feel pretty, too! lol

I personally prefer the more masculine scents (Merlin's Forest and French Vanilla and Oak are 2 of my faves), but florals have their place. As far as soap, I use my own or a bunch I got from Barbara (goat's milk makes me so smooth and soft...). I sell alot of candles to men in many different scents, but they are usually buying for wives. But I have yet to see any guys buy tarts! Must be too "girly" lol.

  3. If I remember (without checking cause I am feeling lazy), TKB had come up with a line similiar to the POP micas, just can't remember the name. Oh, and the Neon's are really bright in CP!!! Too bright for some purposes, IMO. But really cool, especially the purple.

  4. If I can pick up the candle and move it to a new location without it being uncomfortable, I consider it good. Remember that some people will not use common sense when burning a candle. If it is just for personal use, as long as it is not hot enough to start a fire, then it is good in my book.

  5. Alot of palm waxes have been discontinued or had their names changed. The Peacock one shown here looks like tortoise shell palm. I have not seen the tortoise shell in about a year, but I have not looked for it, as it can be a pain to wick. So you might want to search for tortoise shell. Of course, I might be wrong...

  6. I would write a complaint. I usually don't do things like that, but with the PO trying their best to stay afloat, they need to take care of their CS issues. I usually do not go to a PO, as the mail carrier picks up my packages at the front office. But I have used a couple near me, and the CS has been pretty good. If not overly friendly, at least helpful. One PO actually has very friendly and helpful employees. The mail carrier on the other hand is pretty useless. He delivers mail fine, but has the personality of a frisbee and is ALWAYS on his phone (bluetooth), ALWAYS. Don't know how he drives down the road, lol!

  7. They are quite easy, I whip out 3 or 4 a night! Imagine the bitching you would hear if someone burned one at a party and it dripped all over their guests lol! I just may have to try a smaller version (like I have the time). Bet you could get top dollar for one, but I would hate to have to ship it! I would guess it is just made with a pillar wax and enough stearic acid (or palm stearic?) to make it harder without making it too brittle, if that is possible...

  8. I hate Spam. Whenever I see stuff like this, it makes sure I WILL NOT ever buy from this person. When are people going to realize that they probably lose as much business as they may possibly gain by doing crap like this? Especially on sites like Craftserver!

  9. Gotcha! The panel size on the 8 oz. Status jar is 3 inches tall from top of base "ring" (the part that sticks out) to top of jar. This is to the very top, and does not take into account any lid that overlaps. The jar is approx. 8.5 inches in circumference. So you have to figure out how much of the jar you want to cover with the label. HTH

  10. I think you have done all you can for the moment. Hopefully she will understand that things like that do happen. I would just "jump through hoops" as much as you have to in order to make things right and hopefully keep a customer. This is what sets us apart from the mass-produced world. It may cost you some money, and there is no guarantee that she will ever reorder. But I think it would make you happy, as well as her, to do all you can (within reason) to make things right (or at least better).

  11. Not being snarky here, but if you have never used the jars before, how are you going to start selling ASAP without testing? My advise is to make sure you test every scent before selling. The Staus jars have some different burn characteristics than the same size jar of different types because of the heat retention caused by the base and glass thickness. Please do yourself a favor and test the jars, that will give you plenty of time to decide on the label you want.

  12. Moonshine - I happen to have some Rainwater FO laying around (kinda weak in candles IMO, but great in tarts), so may have to give it a try. You could have told me before I poured the Day at the Spa testers, lol! Already tested the Day Spa out, but am trying a new jar. I seem to always be trying new jars....when will I learn? Of course, all the supplies are a great way to offset the profits on my taxes!
