You wouldn’t have known otherwise, so use it and learn from it.
in the good old days (a few short years ago) we could buy a box of wax from nearly any supplier and be reasonably sure it would be within a decent range of “similar enough”.
Then manufacturers and retailers realized we end users had ZERO recourse for bad supplies and started selling us all crappy junk with no remorse. Enter new waxes, like coconut waxes that caused an industry frenzy. Coconut wax went through the same pains as soy, paraffin, etc.
then supplies became scarce and people would buy anything just to have it. People bought more and more from different suppliers to try to find “something/anything” to keep candles on the shelves (decent or not) happily paying top dollar. Seems most don’t bother to test anything and were none the wiser.
palm has been the only one to pretty much stay static between lots, but the soy industry had already poisoned Palm in consumer minds, so…
Yeah, I've been really sad about what I came back to witness. I miss the days of a few years ago. I wonder if it will ever get any better.

Good to have you back. I hadn't been on in a few years, and now I don't know anyone. Wondering where they have all gone.

Okay, in a lot of places now, I am seeing these tiny little wax droplets. They sell them by the jars or in packets. WHERE in the world do you find molds for these. I'd like to find a mold and see just how much a PITA these are to actually make, and try blending some scents to see how I like them.
I have been scouring the internet for weeks now, and I even found a tik tok video with a lady pouring them in, then using a mud and tape scraper to scrape it off as it begins to set. They are super thick molds. She may have had them custom made, but I don't even find anyone that custom makes the darn things! Can anyone lend a helping link? I'd appreciate it. Not something I'm looking to sell for now if ever, just wanting to check it out.

@MommaD I don't personally make MP soap but one of my best friends makes CP & HP soaps. I would be glad to suggest some that do well for me in wax melts and scrubs. Just not sure if you're specifically just looking for suggestions for MP. LMK
I would love that! Thank you

Thank you so much! This gives me a great place to start!!!

That’s ok!! Thank you for popping in and trying to help. The forums seem so much quieter than they did a few years back. It makes me sad. I’ve always loved this place.

Thank you for answering! Yep, i know they all carry bakery scents. I’m looking for you experienced folks to give me a little guidance about who has the best smelling ones. Whose smells the most realistic, or the best. I know I am going to have to do testing, I was looking for some practical guidance.

Hey all. I used to haunt these forums a few years back when I was making candles. I’ve had a few years break while raising my kiddos and I’m looking to get back into the game, but this time, I’m wanting to start doing some soaps.
I want to start with MP.
Im specifically looking to do some bakery scents. As realistic as possible. I’ve spent many hours poring over these threads here, but many of them are older, and I see a lot has changed.
Is is there a particular thread, or can anyone give me any advice on some true bakery type scents for soaps?
I would appreciate any and all help, and I am really excited to be back.

I do melt & pour, but I'm not an expert . I think @Candybee is the go to girl if you have questions. There's a great thread on here about M & P recipes. I learned most 'everthin' I know from there.
Yep, I've been all over that thread and asked a question about it.

Hey all! Looking to dive into melt and pour and was wondering if this forum got much action anymore?

Ok. I am slowly trying to get back into the game and found this beautiful thread.. I found some soaps that I want to try, and I have been doing a bit of research. I noticed that peak candle supply is just fragrance oil's now so unfortunately I won't be able to get the soap from them. I also noticed that on the cranberry orange spice soap, candles and supplies no longer carries a cranberry marmalade. Is there a good alternative for the cranberry marmalade? Thank you in advance!!!

Well, I've read this thread and I am more confused than ever. I am looking for a blackberry cobbler scent. (Makes my mouth water to think about it.) None of these sound like they would work for that. Who has a straight up blackberry or a thought on this.

Those are way cool!

Hmmm. Going to have to try this strawberry and leather. But, the combination together makes me think of some kind of a "love oil" rofl!
-
yes! The shipping shocked me. I know that everything has gotten more and more expensive since I sold my candle business a few years ago, but dang.

It has been a while since I shopped FO's. I was looking around for some different scents, and noticed that several companies are doing minimums. That just annoys me. Sometimes I just want to buy one or two small amounts to sample. Of course, I know that I could spend hundreds easily, but I can't afford it.
What in the world? Flat candles?
