  1. This is too strange! At least we both know a great football team. I'm over in the Chelsea area. Where is Cordova? Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  2. Thanks gang for the feedback. I agree the picture should be neutral or scent matching. I was mainly trying to decide between the dark or light labels. But then if the picture is right, may be that both are usable depending on the candle color. I think I'm looking more for a branding label than a one that is descriptive of the contents. Thanks again. Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  3. Thanks. I found them and they are less than 20 miles away.
  4. Anybody out there from the beautiful state of Alabama??? I live in the Birmingham area and would love to find a local supplier for wax and other stuff (mostly wax to save on shipping). I would even drive a ways if needed. Any feedback would be welcome. Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  5. Trying out a new container and poured the testers today. Assuming all tests well I'll add them to the product list. But I can't make up my mind which of these two labels I like best. You guys and gals have been doing this a lot longer than me so I thought I would seek your advice. Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  6. I make tarts with Crystal Palm wax and after they cool the tops have a sparkling crystal texture. Could that be it? Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  7. Ok, Trying the Candle Sweater thingie as we type. If I'm going to have wet spots it will be with this wax and jar. It in the 30s outside an room temp has just reached 70.
  8. I got it from CandleWic in a 5lb bag. They call this wax Crystallizing Votive/Pillar Palm Wax - Palm-2. I like it pretty well but be aware you may need to pick out some dirty objects. Not enough to be concerned with but it is more than I have seen with the Candle Science palms. I really like that I can buy a 5Lb bag. Enough to test and play without getting stuck with a lot if it doesn't work out.
  9. Hey Smart, The color is just 5 drops of liquid orange dye per pound. The light spots and pattern is a feature of the Crystalizing palm wax. You just color as you would normally and it will take care of giving your candle a unique character.
  10. I'm using a CSN 7 wick on the 2" Palm Pillars. It worked well for the Tortoise Shell Palm but I need to test this wax to be sure. Yes I did the wrecking procedure though it wasn't as bad as the first time with the Tortoise Shell Palm I'll try the stickum before the mold sealer trick. It sounds like it will work and so simple. Thanks Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  11. I don't know about Bamboo Mist but I found one called "Himalayan Bamboo" form Candle Science that works very well in Soy (CB 135, CBA and PB at least). Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  12. Well here is my second try at making pillars with Palm wax. The first wasn't so good, but thanks to the posts here on the forum this time wasn't as bad. This is two 2" pillars and some tarts with the excess wax using Crystal Palm. The wicks aren't trimmed yet and still have some mold sealer suck to them. Does any one have an easy way to clean that off? Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  13. I have used a CSN 7 in Tortoise Shell Palm 2" Pillars with very good results. Steve ROLL TIDE ROLL!!
  14. Thanks for the quick response. But can you give me an idea of how many times should I expect to punch holes and repour? I feel like I'm having to do it far too many times (3-5). Maybe I'm doing something wrong like not waiting long enough before I start. Steve
  15. Well, I tried my first soy pillar and it was a disaster. I am using Ecosoya PB in a 3in. mold. Then I slowed down and have been getting better, but I have a question or two if you would be kind enough to help. 1) That first pillar is a no show, so can I melt it and re-pour it again? 2) How many times should I need to punch holes and repour with the soy wax? Steve
  16. I have had good results with the LX 22 wicks in this container. Some hang-up early in burn but it is cleared up as the candle burns down. Full melt pool in good time. Steve
