  1. I made up my first testers 13 months ago and they are 1/2 gone but still smelling strong. If I remember - I flip my reeds once or twice a week. I don't know if I would say the diffuser oil "evaporates" but is absorbed into the reeds. When the exposed reeds begin to dry out or not be as strong, flipping them aides in the absorption. Does that make "scents" ?

Did you make your own base or did you buy a pre mixed base? I ask b/c I purchased the Reed Diff base from a company and I make a 50/50 mixture, then I made a 60/40 minture NO THROW

  2. Do you know of anyone that packages EO's and sells them? I spoke with someone this weekend about this, I guess she thought I was a rookie. I ask "Do you use EO's of FO's?" she said well I use designer oils (nothing but perfume FO's such as Tommy Hilfiger, Polo etc...). That means FO's. I spoke with someone else and asked the same question. I got "I use speciality oils" am I missing somenthing? I htought there were two kinds of oils FO & EO.

  3. What steps do you follow when making this product? I have used two methods.1. Add sugar/salt to jar and pour scented oil over grains. This is quik and easy I can make 100 of these a night.2. Mix sugar/salt with oil, stir (this seems to make the grains fluffy) then add to jar. This takes a little more time and labor, also it's difficult to package unless you have some type of hi-tech pouring machine. Is either way wrong/right?I notice when I used the 2nd method that I use less oil but more sugar and vice versa when using the 1st method.PLEASE ADVISE!!!!</p> WHY DOES MY POST RUN ON AND ON LIKE THIS, HOW DO I SEPERATE MY PARAGRAPHS?

  4. Im still testing the Lavender scent. Last week I poured Peaks lavender using Soy at 1/2oz PP and the hot throw was pretty good, although I think im going up to 3/4oz PP. My question to the board is does Lavender have a slight fuel smell? I have never smelled this scent before until I tested it and it's pretty funky if you ask me? I guess I need to test other companies.

  5. IMO Lavender is one of those scents you either love or hate. I use Candlescience's Lavender and that is one of my biggest selling scents! Surprising but true.

Well I hate it. Im going to carry it b/c everyone wants it. I just read peaks site and it said let cure a few days to get rid of teh sharpness. I will burn again Friday. I poured this one on Sunday and tested today (Weds).

  6. All by Peaks, using Soy. I dont understand what the big deal with Lavender, this FO STINKS!!!!! The throw is strong (1/2oz PP) but I got somewhat of a fuel smell them the true scent came throw. Or is it suppose to smell like fuel? Everyone wanted it so I got it. The Cranberry Citrus is excellent, I love this scent. Im going to add it. What color do you color this candle?

  7. There are fine and coarse sea salts. They are not supposed to be iodized, but sea salt is increasingly available from local stores. I buy mine from the health food store: they order me a large (50 lbs?) bag and give me a discount. I pay about .60/lb.

I wouldn't be able to tell by sight if it's sea salt or table salt, unless it's the coarse stuff.

Well I stuck my tongue in mine, i guess all salts taste the same. I jsut thought sea salt was somewhat transparent.

  8. I think it's label appeal. I buy mine in the bulk foods section at the grocery store. It's $.59/lb with no shipping. Yeah!

yeah and I just paid $1.60 a pound plus shipping, and Im only two states away. I swear this is Morton's table salt. Is there a difference?

  9. Cant keep this on the shelf. People are falling in love with this. I was talking with some customers yesterday day and they kept telling me "When are you going to have some more banana candles in?" Im like I sold out of the banana a week ago, she was like know I have the last one right here. Im like ok, call it what you want.

  10. Do you carry these and if she what is the flashpoint cut off? Did that make sense? I only want to sell oils that I know or almost certain that someones house will not catch fire. Also, do you use EO's and FO's?

  11. Do you carry these and if so how much FO to you add? The manfactures instructions say 20%-30%, I think it should be more like 50/50 mixture. Do you test these like you do candles? What are your popular scents? Do you fill your jars to the top?
