  1. I've been with them for at least 2 years and basically just check the events & craft shows. I believe this is something new he started.
  2. I just got a notice that my "membership" (huh?) had expired and when I went to rejoin they asked for payment through Paypal in the amount of $2 a week or $59 a year. Anybody else get that? Anybody (strange enough) to join their site with a paid membership?
  3. Has anyone seen this sales chart for crafters? Do you get email from craftlister.com The sales chart is very interesting indeed. [edit]Unable to attach it. The $ amount is the weekly sales the (#) are the number of crafters reporting. It's an average. $257(20) $338(16) $277(19) $339(13) $251(15) $132(10) $61(4) $0() The above numbers were generated live from Artist & Crafter's event history entries. The number (in parenthesis) after the dollar value is the number of events that weeks average is based on. $321(5) means 5 people reported average gross sales of $321. Many more event histories need to be added to make this Sales Trend graph more accurate. Add your events on the 'My Account' page under 'Manage Your Event History'. Your numbers will not be shared except in an annonymous, collective way for sales reports such as above. We, the arts community, can finally have an accurate barometer of how shows sales are going accross the country, week to week, but many more show results need to be entered! Don't delay, share yours today!
  4. I did a candle last night, mixed soy & paraffin, turned out pretty nice. Not quite as "white" as I wanted. More "off white" but it will do for now.
  5. Like everybody I didn't get it either, but I recently sold out (only 3) at a craft show. You have to really sell hard, explain to the person buying what it is. Now I include a hang tag with instructions on the back. This next and last craft show I'm just taking 2-3 again. Next year I'll be prepared. the reason I'm using bears in the mix is because I'm running into more people who sell candles at craft shows & soap (which I don't make, just sell somebody else's soap). So I'm trying to break out of the norm, be a little different and it seems to be working. One thing I notice: i won't buy anymore bears taller than 5" because they use up a ton of wax & FO. Baby bears for me in the future.
  6. I am using soy wax (sometimes a blend). I wanted to make a white candle. sometimes soy has a yellowish tinge. It was reco'd that I include stearic to make it white or white crystalline. Just made a blend and will let you know if it results in what I'm looking for. Thanks all.
  7. I have some stearic. I'm using soy flakes & soy blend wax. Hmmm, I'll try that.
  8. All I have is the Product no. no brand name, nothing more.
  9. I wanted liquid because it was recommended to get liquid.
  10. I've been buying a wick from an art supplier but it's not labeled. It has a thin wire inside, cotton wrapped. Nothing on the label. I see everyone writing about zinc wicks being dangerous. What type of wick is this?
  11. Hmm-- Edited: 1 oz for $6.50 -- how much wax will 1 oz cover?
  12. Image to the candle after I tye-dyed it (marbled pillar). It's a store bought candle. You just dip it in a mixture of water and dye. I like it, but I'm going to make my own white candles with fo -- now my question to the forum. what type of white dye should I buy to make sure the color turns out WHITE and not gray or off white? Do you have a favorite white dye (brand) that you use? I'm working with soy and soy blends. http://us.f1.yahoofs.com/bc/2c5e5176/bc/My+Documents/Red+tye-die+candle.jpg?BCPV7mDBVHh6tsrn {sorry but the image is too large for the Candletech server site}
  13. I tried them out last week...sold 3 bears at a craft show, I only took 3 bears...and I'm telling you they are now part of my mix. Now I have a question for the bear-waxers: how much fragrance do you use per bear?
  14. Thanks I'll try it. It makes sense that the foil piece is permanently glued but can be reused for a candle holder anyway. I wonder where we can get the candle holder? It's really nifty.
  15. I just burned that glade oil fragrance candle. It has a foil protective cover. Does anyone know how to get it off? Without scratching the glass candle holder. I want to recycle the candle holder which is very pretty. www.glade.com/new.asp
  16. me Too! Pam before you judge....1) I always am conservative with a 1st year craft show, which this was. 2) It was a "private" school craft show, not a big old craft hall; at most we had 45 vendors on 4 floors 3) I mix the candles with soap and bath salts and other stuff 4) I share a table to cut the table cost And yes-- where do you live that you can take 1000 candles to a craft show. Does that require a truck???? :smiley2:
  17. Crazier things have been tried, like invading Iraq.I think it would probably be better if you went around to little cafes and asked to do consignment with them. Wax: You live in Chicago? I do too? We have to talk!
  18. I'm kind of perplexed right now. Had my first craft show at a first-time holiday bazaar and sold zilch. Now I'm thinking -- I got all these candles, about 16 -- and I got to sell them! Is anybody selling candles online and how are you doing? I have a website for my goods at other places like Amazon.com, and thinking maybe I should do a store online with a paypal link. See: lwright.biz Thanks all.
  19. I'm trying my first tonight...how do you pkg it? If you put it in plastic will that retain the scent?
  20. Alright, now....how do you scent and/or color it? Do you dip it in a solution with dye?
  21. has anyone knowledge of this type of wax & candle? See pix.
  22. I'm not familiar with firestarters -- you mean for chimneys? or barbecues?
  23. The instant email reply is NOT WORKING and I have to check in to read the replies. Please post here and email the reply. Thanks all.
  24. When you buy your goods and collect all those receipts, where & how do you file them for record purposes? Looking for recos for office filing products. Email direct, instant reply not working: wright_0048 @yahoo.com
  25. I bought a bunch of glass jars, open mouth 3", need lids or caps. Any ideas where i can buy them? Or what fabric I can use to cover them? thanks all. Email direct, I am not getting email replies: wright_0048 @ yahoo.com
