  1. I have two suppliers that I use but they are not in the south. I have not had to buy that much bulk at once so I have not pushed to find a closer vendor. Shipping will be much cheaper on that kind of volume if I can purchase closer to my state. Is there something else you were trying to say?
  2. Hi folks, It's me again with another supplier question...I am looking for a large quantity of SAFE tart burners. Know any good wholesalers? Thanx! You guys are life savers!
  3. Does anyone know of a reputable wholesaler in the south? I am in North FL.
  4. Hi All, I talked to WalMart today and they are ordering me 2000 pint jars. It hould be about 5.44 a box and the manager is going to give me some for free! Thanx for all your suggetions.... some of the sites you mentioned, I will be using for different style jars that I need.
  5. Hi I LOVE the lettering! I agree about the leaves though. My thought was that they neede to be more pronounced. I like the concept your after! Sallykate
  6. Hi all... my turn for the dumb question of the day":rolleyes2 I use pint jars for my container candles. 1 pint = 16oz. so is my candle actually 12 oz with shrinkage? I have been measuring and pouring 12oz but if any wax is left over, pour it into tart tins. It looks as though in liquid oz, a pint is 12oz to the neck and 16oz to the very top brim. This is important to me because I am trying to figure my exact cost of wax per candle. Also, what would I say I am selling? a 12oz candle? It sertainly cannot be a 16oz candle. I have been thinking that my pints were considered 10oz candles for the past few days but used to think they were 12oz. ACK! help me someone please! Tyia,
  7. ....and I thank-you all too as I was just going to post this question!
  8. Hi Meridith, I had to stop by Wal-mart tonight so I did ask and they said they could probably order them. They also told me to write a letter to the manager and tell them I was doing a fundraiser for a school and he would probably donate some or give me a gift certificate for some. That was nice to hear! I really would like smoothe sided jars though if at all possible. BTW, the jars at Wal-Mart are 5.44 a box.
  9. ... any suggestions to a good wholesaler? Where do you get your jars? thanx!
  10. Peaks doesn't carrry Twigs n berries... where can I get it? TYIA! Sallykate
  11. I have been making predominently food scent candles. I have made some non-foodys but have only cared for a couple of the FO's that I tried. What do y'all like? What sells for you?
  12. Good ideas folks... I display mine in mason jars for the purpose of mix-n-match as well. I also will put 3-5 in a cello bag for incentive offers etc. I have a fundrasier coming up and tarts will only be sold in a minimum of 10 purchase. So I am trying to figure out how to packag ten tarts I guess. I was not sure that a cello bag would work. If the tarts rubbing on each other would damage them. Sallykate
  13. What is the best way to package tarts?
  14. Well mine came to me in the early morning while i was in that half awake half asleep state... I woke up and thought hmmm.. I kinda like that and asked a couple of people who siad that they really liked it so walah... LumineScent DeLights
  15. His post titled "Flase Advertising" got me to thinking about my candle sizes and advertising... I realize that liquid weight is diff. than solid and know that 16oz soild wax is 20oz liquid. SO! What should I claim my pint (Ball jars)container candles are when they are a finished product? 10oz? 0r 12oz? I am thinking they would be considered 10oz. :undecided:rolleyes2
  16. To be honest with you... I joined CT a year ago and heard everyone "plugging" peaks all the time. I thought it was because Peaks was a sponsor of this board and people were brown nosing LOL! At the time I had only used Bittercreek and a couple of others but Peaks had a sell for wax going on so I bought some and was very pleased. Then I got in a on a FO co-op and WOW! I quickly learned how professional and corteous they are AND how awesome their products are! I love Peaks! Peaks Bittercreek (A converted brown noser!)
  17. Hi all.... I warned you that I would be back as this fundraiser thing went along... Ok, I am confident in my ability to make and fill the candle orders I will be getting. I am confident in my tally sheets, business contract, receipts and order forms. Noooo Problem! BUT... what about a brochure for the customer to look at?? I am really freaking out about that. Besides the designing part, which if it comes to it, I feel certain I can do... what about the expense?? A color brochure will cost a fortune. HELP! Any suggestions... I looked online for some examples of other peoples brochures but all I can find are very expensive looking full color brochures. Any and ALLL suggestions welcome! Thanx guys... you all are great! Sallykate
  18. Thanx Shannon. I looked at this post and went to the sites suggested but found nothing on "custom" designs. I am going to call a couple of them though. Sallykate
  19. Hey guys... as I mentioned in another post I am doing a fundraiser that will yield about 1500 candles. I used to use a hang tag like you see below. By the way that is an OOOOOLD pic from when I first started making candles and I no longer cozy the tops like that. I simply use hemp to tie my labels around the neck. It is a lot of work and I am wanting to go to a simpler sticky label process but do not want to lose the warm charm my candle labels have now... I LOVE the vintage look. Does anyone know where I can get vintage looking custom made labels?
