I wasnt talking about buying one FO at 25lbs. I was using Sugar Cookie as an example. The reason for asking was becase if you where basing your business on wholesale prices only and you where doing 20-25 FOs of course you wolud want to buy those for a cheaper price even if it meant 20lbs for each FO. I wasnt trying to do this but if you have a future business plan where you want to deal in wholesale business only, you would not want to be paying 16 a pound especially if you are trying to make a good product. I understand hes not gonna give a price break for one FO when he has dozens of other customers as well but you end paying more than the 16 when you add shipping. Why go through all the trouble when you can dupe that FO and pay less unless that person is willing to give you a deal himself. Everybody does test test test to get that FO they have been looking for but your not gonna want to get shipped 2lbs at a time and pay shipping if you are doing alot of business. Im not trying to step on anybodys toes Im just asking questions and I do appreciate all the information you share with me. Thanks

I was under the impression you pay around 10 dollars a pound though a manufactures at 25lbs min. Would you not be saving almost 6 to 7 dollars per pound? So even some of the people on here who make alot of candles still continue to go through the middle man? Do you know which manufacture make FO's as strong as Peaks or pretty close?

So I would have to call all these companys and try out samples untill I matched the same FO as Peaks. Companys like Belle Air, Agilex, and so on. I know I could get a deal from creative Fos but what if they dont sell the FO that I like from Peaks. What if your customers only like that FO and they find out you change it up on them. I am assuming Peaks is not gonna tell you who they buy there FOs from so you can buy in bulk. Does anybody know a good supplier that makes FO's like Peaks? Thanks for your replies.

Stella thanks so much for the information. Thats exactly what happened to mine! I was so nervous about people trying to light this again and causing a fire or something. So the key here is to find a better glue. Im assuming its more expensive to use this Permatex glue correct? Thanks so much I was really stressing this on top of me being sick.

Just curious does Peaks make there own FO's or do they buy from another company ? I was searching on here for a while but there are so many suppliers. So If I like Peaks Sugar Cookie for example and wanted to buy it by 8 to 9 pounds how would I go about getting a better deal. I saw that creative fragrances is near me but wasnt sure if they would carry a better one or similiar. In that type of situation is it better to get the FO duped and pay a company to do it or what do you do? Alot of people want to charge 250 to dupe a FO and of course the kicker you need to order atleast 25lbs. Thanks

Has two testers that I used this week and when they where close to the bottom the wick moved over to the side. I dont remember what temp I poured in but I do know that they where burning these for a few hours when this happened. I am using a 9oz hex jar with a zinc wick and igi6006 wax. Not sure what I did wrong but I have been pouring at 170 now but dont remeber what temp I poured those in. Am I not using enough glue? Please help:(

Lol good to know that Im not the only one whos nose gave out. I appreciate all the information. I bought one from a local comany and I guess she adds to much FO because that thing was sweating like crazy I mean alot but I have to admit her cold throw was amazing but I guess it would be if your just wasting all that FO and the wax is pushing it out. I thought for a second shes been making candles for 10 years why whould she do that but she probably does it to get a strong cold throw??? I dont know I would assume she knows what shes doing alot of people like her candles but in my opionion I just dont understand why you would add that much if the wax is gonna push it out unless you really think that its gonna help your cold throw. I am talking about a company that makes alot of money doing this but after 10 years why would you do that?

Well my wife said about 8 people asked where they could buy the candle so I guess thats good news. I agree with you I cant trust my nose at all my wife has to get on to me and say that its great. Im assuming it has to do with making them. I have been giving her most of the ones I have been making so I can get opinions from the customers since my nose thinks everything is soft lol. But I really think I expect to much out of what I do. Sometimes I tell her to smell the candle and you can see it blows her away but Im like huh its not that strong. I hear people saying oh my whole house was filled with this candle and thats why I was thinking mine were not strong enough.

Has anybody tried the one from BG. Iorderd one from BCN aftering trying the one from NG and it didnt do well with 6006. Just wondering if the one from BG is stronger then BCNs. Thanks

I am using Autumn Magic and Home Sweet Home in 6006. I do notice that the cold throw is not as strong as Peaks and KY so was wondering does anybody use this same wax and know where I can get these two FOs in a stronger form?? Thanks:)

Ok how do these other companys offer scent samples of there products without it being to expensive. For instance if you are doing a fundraiser what would be a good way of getting these people the smell. I was thinking tarts but then I figured you have to package them and make more wax ect. Just wondering if any of you have any idea other than tarts on how to get customers that want just a scent sample?? I was thinking they had some type of wafer but not sure where they get them from? Just a sample of the FO itself.

THanks Candlebuddy Im looking for a good vanilla as well for 6006 as well. I tried Peaks french vanilla and it was pretty good but was wondering if you have come across a better one. I will check out Bluegrass for the apple pie.

I tried Peaks Frech vanilla and its pretty good guess I will give that one a try as well.

Looking for a good apple pie to use with igi6006 i read BCN has a good one. I was thinking maybe peaks I have tried 2 others but got mostly cinammon. Also I was looking for a great cookie FO as well. Would appreciate any suggestions. Thanks

I really do appreciate all the info hopefully now I can get some sleep. My wife says the ventilation is bad lol. I bought the creme brule from starville because of the reviews and it was a better FO than the other 3 I had tried. She says they mostly use fans because the AC system is not that good. I mix it well and heat to 180 before adding the FO and am using zinc wicks. I will keep trying but I really enjoyed this FO and was hoping for the best. I am curing the candles for about a week as well.

Ok here goes a dumb question. I have read people sites that claim that there candles smell up a whole house. I am using IGI6006 9oz jar. I use between 6 to 8 % fo. I made a cream brule for my wife to take to work shes a groomer and works for a vet. The candle scent filled the front office area but not the back. My question is how do I know if Im getting a great throw. I feel very disappointed in the fact that I could not fill the whole clinic with my candle but then again Im still testing. Am i expecting to much? I made a pink sugar that filled her whole grooming area but that area is enclosed so I dont think that matters. The people work with her and I want the brutal truth I dont care about hurt feelings I just want to be good at this. I know test test test. Please send feedback...
