A friend gave me her old Sunbeam Mixer and I love it. I have used it to make a couple batches of body butter and they came out great!!

I don't usually post any pics, but this one totally surprised me. I have not had any success with trying to swirl in the mold so I decided to try the in-the-pot method. More of a marble than a swirl, but it works!!!! This is SW Bay Rum with Black Oxide. I think I could have used just a tad bit more color, but I had never used the black before.

I got a mini Kelsie mold for Christmas and I just love it!!!I have a batch in it as I type this. I agree the dividers are a bit of a PITA to remove, but sooo worth it to have bars that are all the same size(Can you tell I have serious soap cutting issues???). I make 2 lb batches in it. I am hoping for a larger one soon-Mother's Day is just around the corner, right???
If you do decide on one, be prepared to wait up to a month to get it. I do believe that most are made as they are ordered.

I got a 9 bar Kelsei mold for Christmas and I love it!!! I cannot cut a straight line for the life of me and this mold makes it sooo much easier. I put saran wrap on the bottom to keep the soap from sticking, so I don't really have to mess with ling molds anymore. Some peeps have trouble getting the dividers out, but if I wait at least 24 hours, a pair of pliers works every time!!!
Word of warning tho-if you order one be prepared to wait about 3 weeks. I believe that they make them to order. Now I need to save my pennies to get the 18 bar size!!!!

If you have a Dollar Tree in your area, they have the cutest wicker baskets for $1.00!! My closet shelf is full of them.

I saw some nice M&P heart soaps in the gallery using a metal log mold. I was curious if this can be used for cold process also?? I saw a 8 inch tall heart mold on eBay that I would love to try for Valentine's Day. I am thinking it may heat up too much.
Thanks for any advice.

In your Select Template box there is a line under the format box to choose portrait or landscape. Select Landscape and when you hit ok your template comes up in landscape format.
Hope this helps

I melt the wax in the presto and use a ladle to transfer it to the pour pot to color and scent.

Most of my oils I get from Peaks. They are by far the best quality oils I have tried!! I do use 2 from Bittercreek only because Peaks doesn't carry them. I do find I have to use more of it pp of wax than my Peak's oils. I use Cajun Candles Odor Eliminator as a special customer request for corn cob sachets.

Right now I am using 1/2" x 1 3/4" labels on my lip balm tubes. One on the front and the other on the back with the ingredient list.

Handmade Hot oil treatment
in Bath, Body & Cosmetics
Posted
I just did a Monoi treatment on my hair yesterday-got the oil from the recent coop. I did the exact same thing as with the olive oil, warmed it before applying and used about 1 ounce of the straight Monoi. Wrapped in a towel for about 20 minutes. It rinsed clean after shampooing. My hair feels fantastic!! I color on a regular basis and this is the best my hair has felt in a loong time. The monoi is a bit pricey-but I'm worth it!! I think I am going to try this on a weekly basis and see what happens.
I have seen another hot oil threatment that uses Jojoba oil with some Monoi mixed in but for the life of me I can't find it now!!!
