NG has the very best cherry crumb pie. I believe that it used to be gel safe, but it has no rating. I'd email them and ask. It is awesome.

Those are awesome dainty swirls. Nice job!

Where do I sign up to buy a bar? Where do I sign up for the swirl classes?
THAT is wonderful! Great job!

I believe my presence here merely intimidates you. But let me assure you, I cannot hold a candle to you.
Nice of you to share your 'tude. Intimidation? Please. Just because you didn't get the answer(s) you were seeking (as alot of other new people) doesn't make your replies any better than the ones you are complaining about.
2) I just want you to feel better about yourselves.Gosh....I feel 10 years younger. :rolleyes2

I can't find my bookmarks, but here are the directions for a photographers backdrop. It's basically the same as I had bookmarked, except for the fabric being gathered rather than pulled tight.
-
Cheap plastic tubing from a hardware store plumbing department to make your *panels*. They have the elbows to make the ends. For 3 10' panels, you'll need 12 elbows and 12 10' lengths of 2 or 3" tubing. (provided you want the height to be 10 foot.)
Scads of cheap neutral fabric to make the curtains. Sew (staple or glue) the fabric to the top and bottom tubing. Put in the 'sides' of the tubing when you are at the show to make the panel. You could cut out your company name from fabric and attach it to the back panel. All sorts of options, but if you keep it neutral you can always use it.
HTH a little.

You don't say if it's an indoor or outdoor show. If it's indoor, I'd cover it and leave it. If it's outdoor...do you have a tent that you can enclose? If there's security, I'd leave it. I've done alot of outdoor shows and left my products. Never had anything taken. Maybe I'm just lucky, but it would be awful to pack it up...too much work.

I still find it tacky to email companies asking me to "donate" for a cause that they are CLEARLY benefiting more than the cause its self. I don't expect them to do it for free, but using a charity as an excuse to obtain free product is sleazy.
And HELL NO I WILL NOT DONATE.
I have breast cancer and ovarian cancer survivors in my family. I will donate to an NON PROFIT organization that I KNOW will receive all of the proceeds.
I find things tacky and sleazy too, in my in-mail box. I use the handy 'delete' key. I don't take the time to email them, tell them they are scamming and then post it to a message board.
I think we got the "hell no I will not donate" the first time. Please continue to think inside the box and pat yourself on the back for a job well done, there are enough of us that will think outside it.
I am glad you have cancer survivors in your family. I had one too.

I don't think that 25 tealights (with accompanying promotional materials) would break the bank, nor do I think one tealight would.
I'm not sure what Shannon is promoting, but she is a legitimate person. I think not participating would have been enough, but to imply here AND to email her with your thoughts on scamming was unnecessary. Not everyone or everything is a scam. As with beauty, it is in the eye of the beholder.

How about a good strong Vanilla? Or cinnamon-vanilla. Black Cherry? You can always come up with more upbeat 'hippy' type names, like 'rainbow', 'dreams', etc.
-
I use 2 51z wicks.
-
That is outrageous! I got ripped off too with At Wix End they did the same to me. I ordered 10- 1 oz. samples and 1- 8 oz. bottle. It costs me $25.00 for the scents and the total including shipping was $43.00 that is way too much. I even sent them an email to make sure if everything was correct. Weight was 2.5 lbs. No reply. That's why I say you have to watch the shipping costs when they have a sale, because it is just passed onto the shipping.
Did you call AWE to ask about the shipping? Emails get lost. Jenniffer is a lovely person, I'm sure if an error was brought to her attention, she'd get it fixed. I just hate to see a supplier ripped when follow through wasn't done by the buyer. It's your $$...go after it! I bought 20# of scent and it was just a little over $10 shipping. JMO, of course.

Sometimes with heavy oils (especially vanillas) you can warm the oil in a cup of hot water before adding to the wax. It helps the fragrance incorporate. OR...just stir briskly with a whisk for a longer period of time than you normally would.
If it was me, I'd remelt the candles in the oven (150 degrees), add them back to the pour pot.....stir forever and repour.
Good luck!
-
WOW! Sounds like you and Kimberly had a great time! Glad you won some *good* stuff!
-
Can you get a license addressed to a post office box? (I surely don't know, but seems feasible.)
-
There are far more positive things said (also continually) about JS than negative. However, everyone is entitled to their opinion, good or bad.
I have a bottle of fo from JS....it has long strings of nasty in it along with some sandy sediment on the bottom. When I called, I was told this was *normal*. Sorry, I'm not doing *normal*. I will never use it, or sell it. It was just a waste. I do use alot of oils from JS, but I don't think it should be too hard to see *things* floating in the clear bottles, either when pouring OR packing.
-
Ok people... It turns out I will be there!
I almost wasn't going to make it. Family health issues. But now, life is good.
OMG! HOW did I miss this? WAHOO!
-
Thanks, tlc. Both Terri and Terri helped me out considerably! I appreciate your offer! I might order from OBN though, I'll let you know.
Kimberly......yes, it SUCKS that they are closed. I *hate* to have to ask someone to pick up 20 cases of jars for me. It doesn't say they are closed on their website, but I got two emails today (when they were CLOSED).
You would THINK they would want to be open on a Friday before a candle convention, wouldn't ya?
-
I planned on picking up 20 cases of jars from WSP on Friday. Guess what? They sent me an email that they are CLOSED on Fridays for their summer hours. Unfortunately for me, it isn't listed on their website. I can see closing on a Monday.....but a Friday? Needless to say, I'm not a happy camper.

May I ask how long you are letting the candles cure? I don't use J50, but I know that some waxes need a cure period.
