  1. OMG!! I just got my order from NG and some really stood out for me oob. The Cucumber Wasabi Cilantro, the Sweet Orange & Chili Pepper and the Chocolate Con Churros are to die for! If they smell half as good in a candle as they do in the bottles I'm going to be a happy camper! ============= The cucumber wasabi cilantro is very unique! when you are eating chips and cilantro and drinking margueritas....light it up! It enhances the experience. You either love it or hate it! It is very cool though. I am curious about the chocolate con churros...let me know how it is in wax. never tried NG's Sweet orange chili pepper....I tried MillCreek's SOCP-It smelled good....but people RAVED about it. I think if you like orange....you will love it.
  2. BTW, (by the way), I like the jar idea instead of putting them in a bag.:smiley2:
  3. I want to make the sugar cubes too!!! I just saw some on another site and I think that is a great idea!! I would rather take a cube into the shower than bring my scrub jar in the shower. I heard that you don't want one with alot of oils because your tub will need washed. So, some people use m&p soap and emulsifier wax. I am researching. I am excited too. Hahahaha, this thread was march 2009 and made a come back:p
  4. HI Jen, Did you ever try the vanilla bean from NG? I tried the vanilla bean but not Mrs Claus's cookies. I thought the vanilla bean in C3 Soy wax & M&P soap smelled like vanilla bean but there was a strange end note kind of like plastic?? IDK I am not sure what it was but I did not like the end note of it. I was wondering if there is any funny smell in Mrs Claus. I may have to sample it. The Orange Cake sounds good, I may have to try that. My Fav is the Coco Mango!! It smells Awesome in soap, body butter and really good in soy wax. Janine
  5. Oh, I love the cafe caramel...it smells like a caramel machiatto.?SP It does NOT have a very strong coffee smell. It smells great! Let me know how you like the pumpkin cheesecake from NG. I thik that is a new one for them. I burned the world's best coffee tonight and it smelled like coffee, it was strong. But I didn't LOVE it. I guess I like more baked goods and vanilla's. The coconut cream pie from NG is yummmy!!!
  6. I love Tuscan Wine too! Ahh I mean the FO from NG..lol Speaking fo fresh scents, I thought Autumn Magic smells fresh. I disliked it when I poured it in the hot wax....I kept calling it "Autumn Stinky", but in the wax burning it smells fresh like the outdoors without perfumy smells. It has a slight smoky smell. I like it alot. Fresh ginger peach smells fresh too. I made worlds best coffee but I never burned it yet. I think I will do that tonight:)
  7. I agree wicked wick! I Love NG's FO's, they are the best!!!
  8. Also, I saw somebody had black metal lids on their jars and I don't know where they got them from but they would look nice if you used them on the jars with black labels.
  9. Yes, I agree, if you are going to put a picture on there with the name of the frangrance, then it needs to match the scent. I wasn't sure if we were just critiquing the color of label. Actually, int the darker colored wax, I like the black label, but if the wax was off white or lighter colors than I think the white or off white label would be better.
  10. I like the website in general. I think Natures garden's old website's looks better than their new one. THeir new one is too busy and bright. Hence, I like the website you created because it is not busy looking and it is easy on the eyes. nice job! I think a PO box would be good. If you made a "FAQ" you could discuss where she is located etc. I agree with the others about not knowing where the shop is located. Anymore, I want to know where I am ordering from because I certainly don't want to buy from China and I also want to know because of shipping costs. I like when sites have a place to review the scents which you have:) I myself prefer a site like yours that you can click quickly through. Great Job!!
  11. I vote for the black label :smiley2:
  12. Natures Garden Fragrances list the amt of vanillin in the fragrance oil. http://www.naturesgardencandles.com/ Take Coco Mango for example, I was surprised that it had 7% of vanilla in it. And Vanilla Bean had 9%. Both of those soaps turned brown over a period of a month. Coco mango turned into a milk chocolate color but then when I started usin it in the shower it got even darker. The Vanilla Bean turned into a dark brown. I really don't mind the brown in soap, but like I said before, somebody else using it might think otherwise if their soap is starting to get browner and browner when using it in the shower...hahaha!
  13. I use the Vanilla Browning Neutralizer from WSP which works for soap AND lotions containing Vanilla. You have to look at the ingredients in your FO and see how much vanilla it contains. I think I read that if the FO contains more than 1-3% it may turn your products brown. You have to watch because tropical scents have vanilla in them too and not just bakery scents. I bought it because I really do not want my body butters or lotions turning brown. I don't think that would be too appealing. Plus, the color change doesn't just occur immediately. The color change can take up to a few months and I think if the color started changing when in the customer's posession, they may think that it is going BAD. Janine
  14. Now I can tell by the consistency of the wax when it is ready to be poured. I don't need the thermometer anymore. Yeah, the turkey fryers are great!
  15. Hi Stella, I bought a materbuilt turkey fryer that looks like this fryer from qvc. Except i bought mine from Dicks Sporting Goods. http://www.qvc.com/qic/qvcapp.aspx/view.2/app.detail/params.item.K5713.desc.Masterbuilt-Stainless-28Qt-Digital-Electric-Turkey-Fryer You can't see the 3 holes on the lid, but they are there. I have never taken a temp of the wax in the fryer anyway. I set it at 200 degrees and they say that the temp is usually a little lower than what it shows. You can put about 30-40 # of wax in the fryer and it is all melted and ready to go in 30 minutes. If you have less wax in there it takes even less time.
  16. Hahaha! I was wondering what those 3 holes were for on the lid of my turkey fryer. When it is not in use I always cover the lid with a towel to prevent any dust or anything from going in the holes.
  17. My turkey fryer has a thermostat on it that I set to the Temperature that I want. I use a candy thermometer that I just dip into my pouring pots.
  18. WOW! Just heading into winter!! Blah! I can't wait until our winter ends....we have had soooo much snow, school delays and closings, narrow snowy roads..uggggh! Candybee, "Maui Wowie" is a funny/cute name...I think somebody would sniff it because of the name
  19. HI Linda, Your welcome and yes, I will start a new thread and show the pic of the browny after I make it.
  20. I love the tropical scents & bakery scents. I get most of my scents from NG. My Favorites are listed below which are from NG... butt naked-it has top notes of melon Monkey Farts-Love it! Top notes of grapefruit, pineapples & banana Grapefruit Mango- wonderful Coco Mango is my all time favorite Honeydew Melon Caribbean-another favorite! It smells like coconut & pineapples Cool Citrus Basil Cucumber Wasabi Cilantro-I like burning this one when I am serving chips and salsa Yuzu-it had a fuel smell when I first used it but now since I pour at a lower temp it does not have the fuel smell anymore. I really like yuzu:)) It gives me energy when I burn it. My Fav bakery scent that I burn all year round is Buttercream! NG had a bargain fragrance of creamy coconut and it was awesome. Now they added a creamy coconut to their line and it smells like coconut milk. It is not sweet enough. I just bought coconut fragrance oil from WSP and it is very good and almost like the bargain fragrance that I fell in love with. My fav laundry scents are Fresh Linen, laundromat, clean cotton, & fresh outdoors. That is as floral as I get too. I just don't like the floral scents so I don't make them. I do make Lavender Martini for somebody but it is very strong in a candle. I like lavender martini in a diffuser in my powder room. I recently made Island Flower from millcreek and it was hard to stomach. It smelled nice out of the bottle but whew!!! too strong in wax..blah! I am sure I forgot some but there is alot at NG that I like..oh yeah, don't forget blueberry and pomegranate!!
  21. As I said above, the key for me was just pouring C-3 wax at a lower temp...aobut 125 degrees (when it starts to get a little cloudy and like a thick syrup). It is amazing how the lower temp makes such a difference. Like I said above, the colors are bright, shiny and NO frosting. I was having problems with frosting and then tried pouring at a low temp and BAM! Instant success. I am going to make a dark brown candle with the C3 wax at a low temp and see what happens. I use HTP 83 wicks in my 4oz hex and HTP 104 in 10oz hex and UC wicks in my 8oz jelly jar.
  22. HI again, I tested the throw on only 2 scents and they have a good throw. I would definately say that C3 is better but these have not cured that long either...so give them time and they may do better. I tested Caribbean from Nature's Garden and Red Apple Peel from EAC. I am still NOT convinced with the wax at all. with all of the blooming or blossoming or whatever it is called that I got on the 1st batch at a LOW temp of 125 and jars NOT heated..I am not impressed at all. I attached a pic of C3 that I just poured a few days ago. I did NOT heat jars, I poured at low temp of 125, I used the French Color & Fragrance Co. Liquid dye from EAC and I have ABSOLUTELY NO FROSTING AT ALL, BEAUTIFUL COLORS, SHINY COLORS, FLAT EVEN TOPS, and I did not add coconut oil or any other additives except UV inhibitor. I have achieved the look that I want and found the new wax is crap for me. I just bought another 50# of C3 and loving it.
  23. Wow, so different brands, colors and types of dyes can factor in on frosting issues.... I knew about the colors, but not different brands and forms of dye. What does EVO stand for? Well, I have only used the french dye as stated previously and when I poured at a lower temp(125), I had no frosting issues in 7 different candles. The colors used were coral(I mix my own colors),lime green,peach,pinkish-red,aqua,light brown and hot pink. When I poured hotter before, I had frosting issues with the coral & aqua. I also had problems with the reds and when brown was added to another color like yellow previous pours. But in the past, I also made dark brown candles and only had a problem with 1 out of 8 of the candles. I probably poured at a lower temp b/c it took me longer to get the right color that I was trying to achieve. I never have a problem with my tops of my candles-no craters, holes, etc. if I have mild frosting on the top, it doesn't bother me. It REALLY bothers me when it is on the sides. I really think all I have to do is pour C3 at the lower temp(125) and all of my problems are solved. I will let you all know how the Hot throw is after I burn them. Janine
