Hi, was just wondering what you think about votive clamshells. What waxes you use and pouring temps, likes and dislikes?
-
One more question, do you cut it to fit... to rest on the wax, or on the glass edge. I had been thinking about making something (out of card stock) that rested on the wax with holes punched for the wicks to poke through and a little tab so that it could be lifted off. It's just that none of my containers have lids, and I am always looking for unusal ways to top them.

Where do you get the transparency film from?
-
Those are beautiful...

there are lot's of them on Etsy, you should check them out. Decorated to cool.

It is a wax seal, it comes in a colored glue stick form. After I squeeze a big blob out I press my logo brass stamper in it. Let it cool, then antique it with rust colored guilding paste. It's fun, and different...that's me.

Thanks for clarifying the milk comment. It's helpful to hear everyones opinions... that's why I posted.

Ouch...that's harsh. I'm not even sure I know what that means.(milking from what?)

I am going to order some Flanel Sheets today...sounds perfect. Thanks!
-
That's good to know, thanks.

Cute idea...what do you do to the lid ( to cover the print)?
-
the 76 degrees is what I use, as far as frosting, I don't use dyes, unless special requested. I like the natural wax and then I have to worry about less issues. I mostly use heavy square containers, and I put 3 wicks (RRD 37) in the 24oz ones. I have used the Apothecary containers with 1 wick RRD 55.

Thank you guys... #1, and #3 are my favorites too. We had to keep trying to resize the images in order to get them small enough to upload to the site. Straight from the camera they were gigantic. LOL

Sharon in KY--
The English Lavender I used was from AH/RE--it smells really strong--like the plant!

Taylored concepts sells 2 sizes of square adhesive sheets on rolls, I use them since most of my containers are square. they work well, and if it is lifted off they stick right back on.

Oh, I'm really loving this one too. I've had it burning in my office. SC's Hotel Costes, my co workers keep telling me how good it smells.

woohoo me to...utube has 2 new clips from New Moon, check them out! Honestly the books are so popular for young and old, male and females, why not have three candle scents in honor of the 3 main characters(Bella, Edward and Jacob). I figured possibly a gift set, it would make great Christmas gifts.
-
Yes, I had tried all different sizes, and I seemed to have issues with them. I know they work for other people, but I can only speak for my self. When I tried the RRD's I was satisfied, so I haven't tried any others.

I am going to check that out...all the suppliers here (Texas) were basically double the price compared to C&S (even with shipping). So I keep purchasing it from them even though it's out of state.
-
Yes I use it all the time, it's odorless. I use RRD wicks, what are you using?
-
well, with just the Honey, Lilac, and Lemon Verbena, it was sickly sweet. So I added a little English Lavender, and I think it smells like a Edward. LOL ...I didn't like the Lilac I got from SC's, it smelled like old fashioned bathroom spray. I think before a make a big batch I will try some other Lilac FO samples.

Has anyone tried AH/RE Sweet Pumpkin?
-
Thanks Stella for the previous Thread, I saved the info on how to make a light box. So I will take some more photos close up with less cluttered scenery. this is why this site is so awesome!

Thanks, I was going for "Modern Ranch" look, since I live in South Texas. I'll try taking some in an indoor setting next. By the way I Love this site it is so helpful.
