  1. I tried calling them but their phone service put me on hold for 34 minutes and they closed Then the next time I called it asked me for a extension and I didnt know what to hit so I hung up lol. I will try to call again, but I did find a local rep to order from and now I wont pay shipping. Shes not to local but drivable I guess. The starter kit I bought says just that on the invoice. The scents it lists online are definitely not the ones I got. I got a green, orange, white and red dye block. I figured out the red was cherry, and the green was pine, but the other two are still a mystery. So Im just gonna name them what I want lol. They are kinda fruity so Ill think of a good name for them. Thanks for the reassurrance in Candlewic. I will try to call them again this week. Kim
  2. I just bought a case of 4oz jelly jars with lids at Meijers on Thursday. They were only 8.49 for 12. They are cute to make with the extra wax that is leftover, my husband likes them better then the 8oz or the 12oz ones. I like the 8oz best. But they are cute!!!!
  3. I am new to making candles and my first order was with candlewic. I placed a 75.00 order before shipping and I got the package late friday night...... But I ordered a candle making kit which came with 4 1oz bottles and they were suspose to be cucumber melon, tangerine, vanilla and red apple peel. NONE OF them were what they were suspose to be and 1 bottle actually had a slice in it so everything was oily and wet. the glass jars had to all be washed because they were nasty along with my instructions on how to make them. I made a batch of candles and I have no idea what the scent is because the bottle had a sticker that is now unreadable. UGH not happy at all :( Can anyone recommend a reliable and reasonable company to order some new stuff from because I cant order from Candlewic again. That was a mess...... I ordered the kit because it had my 3 favorites scents in the kits. Then I get a kit in May that has pine in it ugh yucky. And the only decent scent was the cherry that had a slice in it. Any help will help I think lol Kim
  4. Thank you for the great advice mparadise. I am very new to this boy am I in for a surprise, this is way more costly then I thought. I am learning alot from this website tho. I was having a hard time yesterday when I tried to make my very first few, my wicks were not straight and not centered either. I guess I'll get better as I go along. Atleast I hope I do LOLOL :laugh2: :laugh2: But I was shocked at the cost I already have in to this. TIA Kim
  5. Oh ok I read the other posts on the presto pot but in my eyes, I think it is just more things to clean up. Yes it may take a little longer using a double boiler but its easier and cleaner than a presto pot. Was telling my husband I need to go to Walmart and get a presto pot but not any longer. I guess if I was in business of selling candles then I guess the quicker the better but I am only doing this as a hobby. One question??? Wont the wax get stuck in the spigot after you are done melting it and pouring it in to the measuring cups? Just my thought. I used the hot water from the pot to clean out my pouring pot, was very easy to clean up afterwards. :cheesy2:
  6. GOOD LUCK GEORGE. I AM DOING THE SAME THING. I LOVE BURNING CANDLES THO SO HOW MUCH AM I ACTUALLY GONNA MAKE????? LIKE I TOLD MY HUSBAND ILL PROBABLY BURN MY PROFITS WHICH IS OK WITH ME LOLOLOL Kim
  7. I am confused.... I used a regular huge pot with about 1 to 2 inchs of water in the bottom of it and put in my melting pot? Am I not doing this right? I bought a First Time Virgin Candlemaking Kit...............lololol I know prolly shouldnt have bought that but I wanted to make my own candles and I dont have a clue as to what I am doing???? Should I go out and get a Presto Pot? What is the purpose of it? Whats with the spigots? I just poured my melted wax into the jelly jars. I didnt use a ladle or a measuring cup. As you can all see Im very new to this. TIA Kim
  8. I am new to this hobby of making my own candles. I was told today to use a hot glue gun and glue the wick to the bottom of the jar and then use a straw to hold it in place for a few seconds....has anyone ever done this? Am I wasting my time? Should I just go out and get the stickums? Thank you for any help you can give to me.
  9. Thank you so much for your advice Leah. I do appreciate all the help I can get. I am so excited about making my own candles:yay: I love to burn candles, I burn atleast 10 a day in my home. So I figured if I made my own and sold some it wont be so expensive lol THANKS AGAIN FOR YOUR ADVICE
  10. what does taunt mean? Tight? i am sticking it in a popsicle stick and dropping it in the candle after i pour the wax in the jar. Is that correct? Thank you for your post.
  11. The video I watched said to use a popsicle stick with a hole in it and drop the wick down the stick then lower the wick into the jelly jar. So if i glue the wick to the bottom of the jar first is it ok to then pour the wax at 115 degrees in it??? I am really new to this duhhhh lol thanks for replying to my post
  12. Hi all I am new to making candles and I am having a problem... When I am dropping my wicks in they are not staying on the bottom or staying straight. Any advice?
